This is not something librarians can help with. We do the book editing and such.You could try the Help pages (link at the bottom of every page).
I thought that for some statistics it matters the book has a 'date read' listed and not only that it is shelved as read, but I'm not 100% sure.
All my read books have at least a year listed, if not a full date.

I'm curious about how the number of books read is calculated.
My "Read" shelf says that I have read 1421 books. Okay.
But in the rankings page that number is only 457, almost a thousand less.
Why is there such a disparity between these two numbers?
