Sue | 4494 comments I haven’t had any go to spam. They just don’t come.

message 102: by Ann D (new)

Ann D | 3803 comments Me too, Sue. I checked.

message 103: by Ruth (new)

Ruth | 11076 comments I have the occasional notice pop up in my email, and I don't want them. So who knows?

You might try going in and turning off your preferences and then turning them on again. Sometimes that works on glitchy electronics.

message 104: by Ken (new)

Ken | 447 comments I stopped getting the Reader's Digest long ago. But man, along with National Geographic, it was one stubborn staple.

message 105: by Sue (new)

Sue | 4494 comments Ken, you do have a way with words :-)

message 106: by Barbara (new)

Barbara | 8208 comments Agreed, Sue.

message 107: by Lyn (new)

Lyn Dahlstrom | 1340 comments I am now getting digests again, old ones and new ones, all jumbled up!

message 108: by Donna (new)

Donna (drspoon) | 426 comments Me too! So funny. I got three today.

Ann D | 3803 comments What a mess! They aren't even in order. I'm glad I started using the "unread" feature. Does anyone know if there is a way to mark all the posts "read" and start fresh?

message 110: by Barbara (new)

Barbara | 8208 comments Sorry I missed you all today! I've been having a hard time lately getting my husband to go out to dinner. He was up for it today but we had to go early so I ran with it!

message 111: by Carol (new)

Carol | 7657 comments I missed it today too. It is a religious holiday. Plan on attending next month.

message 112: by Sue (new)

Sue | 4494 comments Look forward to seeing you both next month. How can we be moving toward June already!

message 113: by Gina (new)

Gina Whitlock (ginawhitlock) | 2266 comments I missed it too. It seems my daughter has an appointment right when the zoom call is.

message 114: by Sue (new)

Sue | 4494 comments Maybe next time, Gina.

Click the "unread" button and you'll get a new screen with all the threads with unread items.

Scroll to bottom of the list. Click Mark All As Read ... that should clear them all and you can start fresh.

Click the "un..."

Thank you BC! I was looking for the Mark All As Read indicator at the top. Once you pointed out that it was at the bottom of the list, I found it with no problem.

message 117: by Carol (new)

Carol | 7657 comments Attended my first zoom meeting. It was nice seeing faces old and new. Thank you Jane for facilitating this.

message 118: by Sue (new)

Sue | 4494 comments Nice to see you Carol. We’ve chatted so often, I felt like we had already met!

Carol | 7657 comments Sue wrote: "Nice to see you Carol. We’ve chatted so often, I felt like we had already met!"

Yep, same here. I was trying to remember the book Ruth was telling us about. But it went with the wind. Also I have read Murmur of Bees in 2019 . So I’ll brush up on it. I gave it 4 stars.

message 120: by Lynn (new)

Lynn | 2297 comments Mary, I think you were the one who mentioned the audio book of The Color Purple during our Zoom meeting. Because it's a well-known book that's been out for a long time, I thought it would be a simple matter to find a copy somewhere between the two e-libraries I use, but I was surprised. The WI library only has an e-book - no audiobook at all. The IA library has an audiobook but they only have one copy with a significant wait list. I put a hold on it but it's clear I won't have it before my next road trip!

message 121: by Mary (new)

Mary D | 77 comments It was actually Sheila who mentioned the audio edition of The Color Purple. Good to know an IA library has it. All I’ve found is an ebook edition. I’ll have to look again.

message 122: by Barbara (new)

Barbara | 8208 comments Our library doesn't have a digital recording of The Color Purple. I was hoping that it would be on Libby but it isn't. They do own it on CDs by Recorded Books which should be outstanding but I don't listen to them that way anymore.

message 123: by Sheila (new)

Sheila | 2155 comments I just finished it Narrated by the Author I got it on my Audible subscription

message 124: by Lynn (new)

Lynn | 2297 comments Thanks for the clarification, Mary and Sheila. I found it on the online consortium of libraries called BRIDGES. I'm not sure if every library in IA is part of it but it appears to be an agency of the State Library of Iowa, so it's possible that it's all of them.

message 125: by Gina (new)

Gina Whitlock (ginawhitlock) | 2266 comments I read it but I haven't listened to it. I'm lucky that the Dallas library has an audio copy. When I checked on my Goodreads list, I found that it is part of a series, with the second book The Temple of My Familiar and third Possessing the Secret of Joy. I'm putting these on my TBR list.

message 126: by Sheila (new)

Sheila | 2155 comments As you may or may not know we have a 2020 delayed to 2021 major sporting event happening in Europe, the Euros, soccer. As usual, Scotland didn't get through the group stages, neither did Wales, but England did and moreover have now reached the semifinals which get played on Tues and Wed evening this week coming, with the final on Saturday next. England kick off is 8pm local time on Wed. If there is no extra time then I plan to make the last 20 mins or so of our Zoom call, so Jane please send me the link just in case.

I can most definitely recommend the following , short, BBC TV Series as/when it makes it to the US https://www.imdb.com/title/tt13138834/ TIme stars Sean Bean,Stephen Graham and Siobhan Finneran and is written by the great Jimmy McGovern. It is a prison drama and if you want ot read a review try https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-ra....

message 127: by Gina (new)

Gina Whitlock (ginawhitlock) | 2266 comments Time looks like it will be a good series. Hoping it makes it to the US quickly.

message 128: by Sue (new)

Sue | 4494 comments At least we’re getting the 4th season of Unforgotten. Glad that’s coming soon.

I was surprised to see that there’s a British production that’s a remake of Professor T. Have you seen that Sheila? If it was mentioned before, I missed it.

message 129: by Sheila (new)

Sheila | 2155 comments Sue, I don't know Prof T but will check it out

message 130: by Sue (new)

Sue | 4494 comments Professor T is originally a Dutch series about an obsessive compulsive professor who assists police investigations. Very quirky show and hard to do it justice. I think it starts here next week. I set it to be recorded on my dvr so I can check it out and decide if I want to watch more episodes.

message 131: by Ann D (new)

Ann D | 3803 comments I loved Professor T!

message 132: by Ruth (new)

Ruth | 11076 comments I suppressed the urge to give him a swift kick and just clicked the off button.

message 133: by Ann D (new)

Ann D | 3803 comments Aw Ruth, Professor T can't help being the way he is. :-) He has "issues" - severe OCD, inability to manage personal relationships, etc. etc. But he is a genius at helping the Belgian police solve crimes. Go figure!

At any rate, I just found out that Nebraska PBS Passport finally has Series 3 of Professor T and I am looking forward to watching it. I read there is a British version of Professor T as well, but I think it would be hard to match the original one.

message 134: by Sheila (new)

Sheila | 2155 comments When's the next zoom so I can get it in the diary?

message 135: by Lynn (new)

Lynn | 2297 comments The next zoom is at the usual time (1 PM PDT) on Thursday, Aug. 5. Hope to see you then, Sheila!

message 136: by Sue (new)

Sue | 4494 comments Ann, thanks for the reminder about Professor T. I think season 3 is on Passport so I can see it since I’m a donor.

message 137: by Sue (new)

Sue | 4494 comments Oh, and Sheila, I think England did well, didn’t they, in the match?

message 138: by Carol (new)

Carol | 7657 comments I will be there at next zoom . Fingers and toes crossed.

message 139: by Sheila (new)

Sheila | 2155 comments It is in my diary.
Yes England did well. Onwards to the final on Sunday. Even this Scot is supporting them on :)

message 140: by Sue (new)

Sue | 4494 comments Good luck!

message 141: by Book Concierge (new)

Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) | 1902 comments I was sorry to have to miss our last zoom session ...real life just interfered.

I've got Aug 5 on my calendar and hoping nothing interferes with it. I missed you all!

message 142: by Sue (new)

Sue | 4494 comments See you in August!

message 143: by Barbara (new)

Barbara | 8208 comments So the next one is August 5? My grandsons were here for the last one but I'm putting the next one on my calendar.

message 144: by Lynn (new)

Lynn | 2297 comments Yep, that's the date, Barb. Looking forward to seeing you again then!

message 145: by Jane (new)

Jane | 2247 comments September 2nd is the next Zoom.

I recommended the South Korean series, NAVILLERA, which is currently on Netflix. It's about a 70-year-old man who wants to take ballet. His family is against it when they find out. There are some wonderful characters in this series.

I looked it up, Jane, it comes from ancient Korean and means “fly like a butterfly.”

message 147: by Barbara (new)

Barbara | 8208 comments Thank you, Jane. That series sounds wonderful. I hope Netflix continues to provide more fare from other countries.

message 148: by Sue (new)

Thanks so much for mentioning this. I started watching it yesterday and I’m loving it.
