ℳatthieu (mcra) | 57 comments Hi,

I rely on french books but issue is identical with languages having accented letters.

More and more users add books with this policy:
title: normal book title with Captitals and Accents..
sort by title: lowercase title without any accents..

https://www.goodreads.com/help/show/2...
Doesn't metion anything about that.

Indeed, search engine does not translate accents.

For example, if I want to find this book:
"Cet été-là"

I can't enter "cet ete la". That would be great to support it!

Michael (mwelser) | 217 comments ℳatthieu, if I am not mistaken, the "sort by title" is used for sorting (e.g. in the combine/separate list), not for searching.

ℳatthieu (mcra) | 57 comments @Abcdarian: yes, maybe this should be mentionned clearly in the librarian manual.

The fact is, some users the put remove accents on purpose in order to be found by search engine.

Would it be possible to request this accent-insensitive search to the GR dev team ?
