I'm half way through the chapters for today, but I just have to complain that I was so sure I had the ebook in my phone...and it was not it. Then I thought okay, I have it on my laptop... again not it. And I really need to get it because I want to know on which days the chapters are happening, also I want to be able to distinguish clearly the characters.

Oh yes, it must be a very annoying read if you are unable to distinguish the characters. I hope you can find the ebook asap.
Honestly, I did not start reading for today, but I will catch up before I go to bed. :)

yeah, no problem.. it goes by fast plus you said you already read it so it should go even faster :D

I had this book on my tbr and i kicked it of for some reason.. I don't know what... but I'm glad I decided to read it because I didn't know I needed some teen mystery.

Yeah exactly! :0 Tbh I do not remember many details so it will be exciting.

Clearly, everybody needs a bit teen mystery!

Elysian (haeliks) | 255 comments Also I desperately need a reread, because I NEED to read the sequel, but I need to refresh my memories.

I actually wanted to read the sequel, because the synopsis sounded better than for this one.. but I'm not going to read a second book in the series.. so this has to go first.

I finished the first 10 chapters and I'm going to listen/read to chapters 11 and 12. I don't have anything specific to comment on I guess that'll come later when I catch a hint, or something I think is a hint, and get some theory.. But so far I'm enjoying it and, like I said, I'm really liking the Pretty Little Liars vibe it's giving me.

Elysian (haeliks) | 255 comments Hey! I managed to finish my fair share yesterday and I just wanted to say that somehow the book feels so much more fast paced the second time around! Idk why!

Probably because you are already familiar with it it goes faster.

I read 39% of the book and to be honest I wanted to continue reading it, but I said if I'm not going to make myself read The fellowship of the ring then I can't read this. So, depending on how things play and how I stand with time... I may be tempted to finish it today 😅

Elysian (haeliks) | 255 comments Hahaha! I totally get how you feel. I read the book in like two days the first time, because I NEEDED to know who the murderer is!

Do you have any idea who the murderer may be? I would love to hear you thoughts about guessing who it is! (bc I obvs already know so no guessing here haha)

I was so sure there are a lot of chapters to cover til the end because it has 38 ch....and then I remember that I thought I had the right book and looked at that book's number of chapters. I'm in the middle of chapter 24 and I'm going to finish it and the book a bit later.

I don't have strong murderer vibes for anyone. Although besides PLL I have Scream the TV series vibes, have you watched it?

Since the anonymous posts say the killer is one of them the choice is limited which doesn't make it easy. I honestly don't know, and I'm kinda not trying to figure it out. Even though it's a mystery I'm being chill about it, because it's so easy and intriguing to read.

Bronwyn has the brain to do it, and besides doing it for her sister I don't know.
Nate is the obvious choice which makes me think he sure isn't.. but then.. that's a well known move so maybe he IS the killer because it's so obvious.
Cooper.. I don't know. He's like Bronwyn, I just don't know. He had a good motive and the encrypted file makes him with the biggest motive.
Addy is a doormat and because of that it wouldn't sound like something she would do.. but also that's the perfect cover.

And while I wrote this comment it came to me that.. Everyone's thing had a bigger impact on their future in some way except Addy. Like, Bronwyn wouldn't go to Yale, Nate would go to jail/juvie, Cooper's chances of getting called by other collages drop and his father not talking to him.. but Addy.. what, she's dumped by her controlling boyfriend and actually get's to breathe at last.

And there's the goth girl, at least that's the person I think I'm pointing at because whenever she appeared I was only listening to the book. She's Simon's friend, or at least someone he spent time with.. if I hadn't gotten things wrong, and I don't know.. there's just something about her and I don't know what. Maybe she's trying to solve the murder? Addy leaving her alone in her room.. something is going to happen.. and I can't wait to see.

While I was writing this gigantic comment I got pumped for the book so I'm going to continue it and find out WHO's behind it all.

I'm on chapter 28 and they come to the conclusion that Simon is the killer... I have to say that crossed my mind because it's a Pll thing...kinda. But I thought that would be too much because he really died.. i think.. and that's taking it a step too far. And now I understand goth girl's involvement or at least I think she's the one posting those tumblr posts.

I finished the book 🎉 it really just flies by so fast. I need more books like this, I really hope her other books have the same chill, mystery tone :D

What are your thoughts now that you are reading it for the second time?

Elysian (haeliks) | 255 comments Hey! I am sorry that my reply is comming so late, but I really focused all my time to finish Serpent & Dove already!

I plan to finish One of us is lying today and then I want to make plans to read One of us is next. (I am VERY excited for the sequel! It was not out when I got my hands on this book)

I will reply to all your messages as soon as I finished One of us is lying!

Okay, we'll talk when you finish the book. I just want to say, One of us is Next is a good for the task red cover.. and I want to use it :D So if you want I would like to buddy read it.

Elysian (haeliks) | 255 comments Yes we totally could! ^^ This time both of us will be surprised.

Elysian (haeliks) | 255 comments I have to say I am at the point where Cooper is forced to come out and I have all the feels again.

I remember that Cooper was gay (I mean it is the obvs cliche that the jock, who everyone loves is gay so yeah) but I legit have all the feels again, bc I forgot how BAD it actually was!

Yeah the people in the school were such jerks, it's good he had the other 3 suspects to be with him and to support him. I was pissed at his dad when C came out. I wanted to comment that but I forgot, like a few other things I wanted to comment on because I was listening to it while walking and couldn't write it down.

Elysian (haeliks) | 255 comments As promised, I finally finished this book and OH boi, it was quite a ride. I am very glad I reread this and I am even more hyped up for the sequel now!

Oh yes I know Scream! I loved the series a lot. I never watched PLL tho.

Also I really understand about the 'I do not suspect anybody and just let me surprised thing' I think when I read it first I tried to track the murderer down and my thought went from Addy to Nate to Bronwyn to Cooper to Nate again. It was a mess.

I totally get the motive thing. But when you consider that Jake was actually behind that it makes sense that he just threw Addy in with them, because he wanted to destroy her instead of just breaking up like every sane person would. Simon felt betrayed by the universe and wanted to their future, because he felt like he could not have one.

I actually have high hopes from the sequel to dug deeper into Jake's head (maybe his own POV?) and also maybe Simon's. Bc Like Cooper said in the book that Simon looked panicked and probably regretted dying. Well, I guess we will never know!

Btw thank you for writing down some of your thought while reading! I could not really do that because... well I I knew already what happened. But I must say I forgot about Maeve and Ashton and I am glad that the sisters of the MCs payed such a big role!

I really hope so to! Honestly, I did not read any of her other books, but HELL I will.

I am actually very glad I have a buddy read for one of us is next, because I am already hooked and I hope for a solid sequel!

Well, there was a moment I though the book is going to pull a Scream.. like when in S2 one of them turned out to be the killer/killer's helper. PLL was pretty interesting in it's first seasons, and it has a good mystery I would recommend the TV series because this book gave me major PLL vibes.

Simon's revenge had more sense than Jake's... his was just petty. Have you read the synopsis for book 2? These characters are going to appear, but one of the main characters is Maeve :D so it's a new cast. Also, I liked the sisters playing a part in the discovery of the mystery. I found Eli getting with Ashton so adorable, and the first time he saw her... like, I wouldn't be surprised if they get a spin-off contemporary romance because of that "love at first sight" moment.

If you are going to buddy read with me there's one thing you should know... I comment on stuff :D If I had read along with the audio and we followed the chapter plan there's a more than 50% chance that I would've found something to say for every chapter.. although, if I like something I don't comment as much, I've noticed that for contemporary romance I don't have much to say maybe just oh, I laughed at this and that.

Are we going to read the second book next month? Because I still don't know what I'm reading and when 😅 by the end of the month.. and we have other books to BRs this month.

I looked, but you check it too, the 2nd book has Part One: 15 chapters and Part Two: 34 chapters. The length, audio wise, is basically the same as the first book.. How do you want to split it?

Oh yeah there is absolutely no rush! I am in two new buddy reads rn and want to finish the fellowship of the ring! We should start next month. I have no plans for next month yet (except the Once& future buddy read) so I am free anytime.

We can split it 10 chapters a day again. Which would be 5 days.

Yeah, one of those new BRs is with me 😂 I yet have to read today's chapters for Havenfall.

Wait, when are we reading Once & Future?

Okay then it'll be 10 chapters a day, starting when? Maybe on the 3rd, because I have a BR for the first two days.

Sorry for the late reply! I did not see this message.

I do not know. I think I suggested starting on the 26th of June, but I do not remember Allyson or you agreeing to it.

3rd is okay for me! :)
