SOLVED. Book about haunted house with time traveling rats. [s]

I am looking for a science fiction fantasy novel. The book cover was black with a yellow pyramid. I believe there was a rat and house on the cover in a light color as well. The book is about a guy and his daughter that buy a house on the coast somewhere. It is a coastal town but it is cold; so maybe east coast like Maine? He buys the house to fix up but weird things start happening in the house. Most of the book is about the house being haunted but towards the end you learn there are evil Egyptian gods that take the form of rats and time travel through a portal in the house back to the pyramids. I read it a very long time ago and would love to read it again but cannot remember the title or author. The book was very adult with language and sex. Again, I read this years ago so I could be fuzzy on the details.
