It wasn't fair and but it was a decent exchange. Roger had vital information that let them to Owen and Patrick before Trash could kill them.
So ridiculous. I know this is the way things go. The officials accept information on bigger fish and reduce sentencing on perpetrators but for his part in the enterprise he really should have had more time. However, the book wasn't really clear on what charges Roger was brought up on. Maybe he was only looking at 10-15 years and negotiated to the 6. Either way, what we know about his part in Trask Enterprises leads us to believe he didn't get nearly enough time in prison.
I agree, Christina. I understand this is the way the authorities can get the criminals they really want but it's horrible. I can't imagine how Lucy felt finding this out the way she did.
Roger was president of Trask Enterprises and was as neck deep as Trask/Adam. He merited a deal but 6 years was tough to swallow. Maybe one day we will see tougher sentences for rape and human trafficking because they are not commensurate with the crime.
You see that the other rapists were back on the street after a couple of years so in comparison, Roger’s deal was in line with the sentencing guidelines.

Unfortunately the sentences for rape are usually not what we think they should be. Then a deal is added to the mix and the perpetrator gets off light. He did give information that helped find Lucy, but it is hard to stomach him getting such a light sentence.
I also felt that 6 years was a light sentence, even for the information he gave them. I'm glad he did because it saved some precious lives, but I feel like he should have gotten more.
