Jason Oliver | 3059 comments Famous authors delving into children's books.

Andy Weir (The Martian) and Dan Brown (Tha Di Vinci Code) have recently wrote children's books.

Cheshire Crossing (2019) for Weir
Wild Symphony (2020) for Brown

I also learned Liane Moriarty has the Nicola Berry series (2007 - 2019)

Do you know any "adult" authors that also write children books? Do you read children books? Do you know any children authors that also write adult books?

Any other fun fact that might change how we normally perceive an author is acceptable.

Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) | 8454 comments Rick Riordan - who is famous for the Percy Jackson series - has a wonderful mystery series for adults, starring Tres Navarre, English professor and private investigator in San Antonio TX.

Julia Alvarez has written many adult books, but also this children's picture book: The Secret Footprints.

And Carl Hiaassen has written both kids middle-grade books and adults book, all with an environmental theme.

I learned recently that not all his books have an environmental theme! I just read Powder Burn not long ago and it doesn't. It was an early book for him, I believe, and it was co-written by someone else.

LibraryCin | 11741 comments Off the top of my head: Louise Erdrich. I haven't been a big fan of the couple of adult books I've read by her, but I really liked her The Birchbark House for kids. It's along the lines of the "Little House" books, but from a native POV. I believe it's actually a trilogy.
