Probably first read this book (books?? Cant remember if its a series) in like 2001-2004ish. The only other part i remember is a couple is driving and they stop at the house. I do not remember if they are expected guests or are sheltering from a storm/ breakdown. Theres also something about frogs- theyre the butler or the eyeballs for the aforementioned soup. I know i sound crazy but all the googling in the world has gotten me NOWHERE!!
