Frankenstein question

Hello! I am looking for books discussing the topic of resurrection, but in a particular way. I need books in which somebody looses someone (a person dear to the protagonist), and tries to bring this person to life, but something goes wrong and the outcome brings sad or horrific consequences. Dark, grotesque, and gloomy tones are more than welcome. Please help, I'm loosing hope...
