annapi | 5505 comments I'd forgotten a lot of the plot of this story! Not that that's any great tragedy, as bad as the stories of Episodes 1-3 are. But I enjoyed the touches of Romeo and Juliet that I recognized here, particularly the Romeo lines given to Obi-Wan Kenobi, as well the three witches of Macbeth in the monsters that they battled. I kinda wish I can recognize the clever poetry wordplay when I'm actually reading it, rather than reading about it in the afterword, but I'm not that geeky!

My rating is 3.5 because I liked this better than The Phantom of Menace, but it's still not good enough to rise to 4.

Jason Oliver | 3050 comments I keep seeing these. I don't get the mixture of Shakespeare and Star Wars. Is there a joke that is lost on me?

annapi | 5505 comments It's just a fun geek thing, Jason. There are lots of jokes in the text, mostly from adapting Shakespeare lines to the plot of Star Wars and hearing a familiar story told in the drama/comedy language of Shakespeare. It's mostly in iambic pentameter, except where he changes it for certain reasons, which are all explained in the afterword.
