Hi Everyone,
One of our members, Ashlynne, has suggested some classic titles for July. She said -
"My suggestion is something from the classics. It doesn’t necessarily have to be the old-fashioned kind, but it has to be what readers over the years count as a classic - officially, that is. My suggestions are Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte, The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux, and Christy by Catherine Marshall.
(The latter book isn’t old-fashioned, but I think, considering its popularity over the years, it would rightfully be considered a classic.)
Those, of course, are just suggestions. But if anyone has different ideas, they’re welcome to it!"
Does anyone have some more titles to recommend? Please share in this thread - thanks a lot!

Hi Everyone,
Since June is nearly over, we have set up a poll (on our Poll thread) for what we should read in July.
We've added the classic titles suggested by Ashlynne. Summer is a good time to catch up on the classics, so we hope you'll vote for your favorite book and join in during July!
Thanks,
~ Linda, Pleasant Valley Online Book Group

Including
Song of Achilles
A Tree Grows in Brooklyn
The Book Thief
We Need to Talk About Kevin
To Kill a Mockingbird
The Bell Jar
Many others...
Can we consider these?
Hi Mary,
Thank you for letting us know about the BuzzFeed book list - many great titles!
We usually include 3 books suggested by our group members in our What Should We Read Next poll for each month. I'm sorry to have received your suggestions after we set up the July poll, but will definitely add some of the titles on this list for next month, and in coming months.
In the meantime, we hope you'll participate in our July poll, and join us in reading a classic book in July!
Thanks again! :)
