I hadn't heard there was going to be a remake of Poltergeist or another Insidious movie. The things we learn here!

BABADOOK

Hi y'all. If you've seen Babadook and love the book from the movie, you can now order one. I did and can't wait to get mine. They had stopped the campaign for buying the popup movie book but I just received this email and if you're interested, you can get one too now. You have until April 10th.

Dear Friends of the Babadook (-Book)!

As you may know we are currently in the midst of publishing a limited edition of the Babadook Pop-Up book. Our writer/director Jennifer Kent and illustrator Alex Juhasz are currently working very hard on creating the additional pages that will make this book a very special companion piece to the film.

The official campaign to get a book is over, but since we are finalizing order numbers with our publisher by Friday 10th April, we have decided to do a last chance run to people who didn’t know about the campaign early enough and who have registered interest via email or through becoming a subscriber on our website.

This is an exclusive offer to our subscribers, so if you have missed out and still want to get your hands on a book, please use this direct link below:

https://get-the-babadook-pop-up-book....

Cost: US$80 ($60 for book and $20 shipping & handling worldwide)
•Payment by Credit or Debit Card only, sorry no PayPal!
•Exclusive offer ends midnight PST Friday 10th April 2015.

Please also note that design and manufacturing time is 5 months so you will not receive your book until fall 2015!

But of course we'll keep you updated along the way!

In the meantime you can check out our latest update video below.

The Babadook Team :)

BABADOOK, Has anyone else seen this yet? I saw the trailer and didn't think much, but I was proven wrong in the best way possible. I'd encourage everyone who was on the fence about this film to check it out. The acting from the mother was phenomenal and to think it was filmed on such a small budget! (only 30k)

I can't find Babadook on netflix. Where did you get it Aileen?

message 72: by [deleted user] (new)

Babadook is now streaming on Netflix as of yesterday.

Micky Blue Skies | 23 comments I had been looking everywhere for Babadook and if it's now streaming on Netflix, that looks like it will be a great movie to watch. So, count me in.

message 76: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm too cheap to rent. I wait for it to be streaming or when we have a free weekend of movie channels.

message 77: by [deleted user] (new)

I watched Babadook yesterday and I thought it was pretty good, rated it 4 stars. Not my favorite, but still pretty spooky. They did well with little money.

Monica Go | 258 comments What did you think about the ending?

message 79: by Micky Blue Skies (last edited Apr 17, 2015 11:46AM) (new)

Micky Blue Skies | 23 comments I am watching, 'The Babadook' right now and so far it is pretty sad and slightly disturbing. Not scary just yet but I still have quite a bit left to go.

message 80: by [deleted user] (new)

Monica wrote: "What did you think about the ending?"

It did surprise me, but I guess after thinking it over, I liked the ending. At least it was unexpected.

I agree on that. It was just not too clear though, but I loved the movie all considered.

Andrew wrote: "Anyone see Hell Night starring Linda Blair? Very scary!"

I think I did but it would have been a long time ago. I'll have to revisit it.

Yes Andrew, I saw Hell Night. I liked it

message 84: by Latasha (new)

Latasha (latasha513) I was vastly disappointed with babadook. I rented it Tuesday and did not think it lived up to the hype. :(

message 85: by Latasha (new)

Latasha (latasha513) Netflix, redbox and your local movie store should have it. it came out this past Tuesday.

message 86: by Latasha (new)

Latasha (latasha513) uh... I'd better let someone else take this one.

message 87: by Latasha (new)

Latasha (latasha513) I was disappointed by it.

message 88: by Latasha (new)

Latasha (latasha513) Yeah, it really was. I was so excited to finally watch it.

message 89: by Latasha (new)

Latasha (latasha513) Me too :(

message 90: by Micky Blue Skies (new)

Micky Blue Skies | 23 comments The Babadook was, imo not really horror but a psychological thriller IN A WAY. It definitely wasn't what I expected because I thought it would be something totally different. I would probably give it 2.5 - 3⭐'s. The ending was probably the best part (when she put the bowl downstairs). It was pretty disjointed to me. But hey, that's just my opinion.

message 91: by Latasha (new)

Latasha (latasha513) Do you all have redbox?

message 92: by Latasha (new)

Latasha (latasha513) it like an automated box machine that lets you rent movies or games. kinda like a vending machine for movies or games.

message 93: by Micky Blue Skies (new)

Micky Blue Skies | 23 comments Rachel, the Puppetmaster was really good. It's because of movies like that and Stephen King's, "It" that I don't like clowns and dolls to this day.

message 94: by Micky Blue Skies (new)

Micky Blue Skies | 23 comments Andre,

"IT" was one of Stephen King's scariest books and movies. It was truly terrifying (but what a good terrifying it was)!

message 95: by Micky Blue Skies (new)

Micky Blue Skies | 23 comments I believe I have seen "The Dolls" if it is an older movie. I saw,"Hell Night" and that was so good and scary.

Dolls is a great flick directed by Stuart Gordon, who directed Re-Animator and From Beyond.
