Steven Tackett | 66 comments Week 1, The Book Thief, is done!

I tell you, this story is touching and heartbreaking at the same time. Even though this isn't necessarily a true story, it makes you think about the real event, how horrible it must have been to be a witness to it, none the less a soldier/civilian/jewish directly involved with it.

The story makes me think that despite the horrible things that happen to us and around us, there is still that ever gleaming chance that life can go on and joy can still be had, no matter how dark it gets. The life of a small girl reminds us of this and implores us to look deeper, slow down, take the time to see what is around you and make the best of the situation, even if joy can only be found in a little book.

Cait (clickcait) | 480 comments I really liked the way The Book Thief was written. So much that I've picked it to read for next week. :-) I enjoyed your review of it.

Steven Tackett | 66 comments I am done up through week 4 now... ready to start week 5, a book with a number in the title. I am excited to start Ready Player One... what's more, I'm using the audio book which is narrated by none other than Will Wheaton! Pretty cool!

I'm also probably going to skip week 6 for now and buzz through 7 8 9, replacing 7 with Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail and returning to week 6 after those, as I have access to those 3 books but not week 6... so... yeah... little jumping for now.

Steven Tackett | 66 comments Well it looks like I am doing all kinds of jumping. I'm reading/listening to the Short Stories book... in this case its a Lovecraft collection
