Some discussion questions from the publisher, if you wanted to use them as a jumping-off point:

1. How did The Devil Aspect use the themes of good vs. evil?

2. Why do you think the author chose to set the book in Czechoslovakia before WWII?

3. What role did the setting (for example, the medieval castle and the forests) play in the novel?

4. While reading, who were your top suspects for “Leather Apron”?

5. What clues were missed along the way to the true identity of “the Leather Apron,” including by Viktor himself?

6. How did themes of “madness” play into the novel?

7. What do you think most drew Judita and Viktor together?

8. What similarities, if any, could you draw between each of the Devil’s Six?

9. What effect do you think the multiple narrations, primarily Viktor’s and Police investigator Smolák’s, had in the telling of the story?

10. In the end, do you believe Viktor’s theory about “The Devil Aspect” was proven to be true or false?

Jax DaJinx | 3 comments wow, what a book. I felt every bit of tension and could not put it down.I couldnt wait til here the next story of each of the deviIs' 6 and the death scenes were layed out in gruesome detail. I thought I had the killer pinned mid way through but I turned out to be very, very wrong lol.Im so glad this was on the book list It was a really fun read and Id give it 4 stars.

Jen | 27 comments I totally agree with Jaxon! A great book!
The first four parts were average, but the last two parts really picked up! One of the lines spoken by Mr. Hobbs to Judita in the big reveal portion of the story was, "How could a personality exist in separate bodies? Are you really so gullible?" I literally thought to myself, "Yea...I am that gullible!" I was totally wrong about the killer and I was so excited to be wrong! Such a great twist!!!!
If I had one complaint, I would just say that I wish the author introduced less serial killers and spent the time focusing on only a few. I enjoyed reading about all of the Devil's Six, but some of them were only briefly mentioned like the Vegetarian! I would have loved to learn more about her, but she was pretty much forgotten after her part early in the book. If the author had less serial killers, he could have given more backstory and detail.
Overall though, the ending was just so good!
One question: I still don't understand the significance of the glass connections between victims. The glass bead, the glass stolen from the glass shop owner, the glass rose? What does all of that mean? I feel like I missed something.
Book rating: 4 out of 5 stars!

Mindy'sBookJourney (mindysbookjourney) This was a very entertaining book. Super creepy in its look in how evil humans can be or act. I really enjoyed exploring all of the Devil's Six backstories. The ending had an amazing twist that I did not see coming. I liked the story being told from Victor and Smolak's perspective, because that gave us insight into the Devil's Six as well as the current serial killer. 4 out of 5 stars

Sorry I'm a little late finishing this! I got addicted to the audiobook, so I was pretty much only listening to this. The narrator did a fantastic job with all the names and accents...speaking of, hearing the Mr. Hobbs voice DEFINITELY added to the creepiness!
We were all fooled LOL I was not expecting Viktor to be Leather Apron!!! I was screaming right along with Judita when that was revealed. I particularly love the epilogue from Viktor's POV as he grappled with the aftermath of the situation...his execution was sad, though. Probably because we all know about the very real atrocities committed by the Nazis, which by the way was an interesting choice as a backdrop for this story.
I like the idea of Mr. Hobbs being a sentient thing (like the Devil or whatever) who takes shape in many people...so Viktor was kinda right about his Devil Aspect theory in a way.
One of my favorites so far and I'm with you Amy, I eventually want to reread this with the knowledge of Viktor being the killer.
5/5 from me :)
