Hope everyone is safe and healthy and has a wonderful holiday season!

Thanks for inviting me to the group I don't have a great social life. I like to read, in theory, but I think the internet has ruined my brain a bit because after using it for years I don't have the attention span to read much.

I’m a professional artist experienced in charcoal, watercolor and ink work, but I love to experiment with other mediums like digital, photography, knitting, etc.
The reason I joined this group: I’ve been watching Alexandra for the past few months. As a mid-30 year old, I had lost my spark when it came to reading; in my mind I needed to read “adult” things all the time. Alexandra and friends opened my mindset to strike a balance between my love of middle grade, YA, adult fantasy and autobiographies. I CAN have it all!
It’s because of the inclusive, cozy (not to be confused by “murderous cozy”) vibes from the livestreams and YT that I felt safe to join a reading group such as this.
Glad to be here and can’t wait to see everyone meet their 2021 reading goals!

Sorry in advance if I make a lot of mistakes, English is not my mother tongue. I'm French, I'm Océane and I'm 21 years old, finally almost 22 years old, I'm a student of modern literature (yes, we distinguish between classical and modern literature in France, the only difference is that the former has more hours of Latin and Greek). So, I love reading and I want to work in publishing later on, but I also like science, dogs, food and Disney. Anyway, let's chat about books since that's what we're all here for. I'm a reading addict, I read mostly classic books but also romance mainly. I read a little bit of everything but I'm not a fan of fantasy, fantasy, anything unrealistic. If I have to talk about my favourite novels, I worship Jane Austen especially for Pride and Prejudice after Jane Eyre by Brontë, Au Bonheur des dames by Zola (sorry, I don't know how you have this book in English anymore), Molière (French playwright very famous in the 17th century, I advise you!).
It will be a pleasure to discuss with you, to get to know other books and if you want to know some classics of French literature, I'm here!
Happy New Year and happy reading!

1) I've been watching Lexi's YouTube channel for the past 6 months or so and absolutely love it.
2) Even though I don't normally read Middle Grade, I wanted to find something that both my daughter and I could do that was fun and allowed us to spend time together.
This is the first book club that I've ever joined, so I am quite excited to see what it's all about.

Wendy, I thought I might be the oldest here since I'm 46. I'm happy to see people like us enjoying MG books!

I’m Annabel and I’m 12 I’m obsessed with Lexi channel and I have been part of the touch of whimsy book club for just over 5 months now and lexi was kind enough to send me the book clubs picks last October can’t wait to read with middle grade with everyone bye!

Looking forward to chatting with everyone!

I’m graduating college this May and will be getting my masters in Clinical Mental Health in the Fall:)) I can’t wait to start reading all of these MG!

I love reading a lot and MG books are part of my favorite readings . A few days ago, I saw the title of one of Lexi's videos about her recommendations for MG books, I was happy to add more books on my TBR. Now, I'm a new follower of her channel and I heard her talk about this group that I was eager to join!
Have a nice day you all.

I do like MG books also.

My name is Emma and I've been spending quarantine re-reading my comfort books. I read the Lord of the Rings again last year and I'm currently on the last book in the Frog Princess series by E.D. Baker, one I read many times as a kid. I love re-reading books like these because it always brings me back to when I read them the first time.
So excited to get to talk to you all about some of them.

Iv always loved books but got hung up on the fact that I struggled with reading a lot, I was slow and words would jumble up and I’d get tongue tied (even reading in my own head) it was frustrating and ruined my love of books for a while but began to overcome this, I’m now reading a lot more and I’m finally noticing a huge improvement!
I’m a fan of Lexie’s YouTube Chanel which is what bought me here.
Excited to read more great suggestions, thank you for having me.

My name is Raphael 29 years old, i am from Brazil, Rio Janeiro, currently living in São Paulo.
Looking foward to meet you all and talk about the books we've been reading.
I do not have a favorite genre, and always trying new things. Books are magic a every story is a magical place.
Greetings from Brazil.

Happy reading!
Veronica

Whether it is picture books or middle grade books, I am passionate about children's literature!
I'm so excited to be a part of this group and look forward to the different books we'll look at each month.
