"Why would this be funny?" Saeva grunts.Penny inches towards the back door.

"And...you find that funny," Saeva says drily. "Come on. Let's go find out what that noise is so that we don't have to wait here like sitting ducks."((and hope it's not Carl which it probably is! Who's ever heard of a growling rat though?))
"Okay." she said and she went up the stairs.
Saeva followed, pushing her back. "Let me go first. I have a weapon."((that was super weird, I just suddenly got not scared that Saeva would die. Like, before, I didn't want her to die but now...it was very sudden. Now I don't care.))
((Same with August)) August nodded.
Saeva took the lead, walking up the stairs, which were very old and falling apart. She hoped they wouldn't cave in. She finally reached the top.
((I just don't want Carl to kill either of them...))
A giant rat bursts out off the wall. It wasn't Carl. But Carl's dad!

Francis snapped back to reality and yelps. "What the......" he shakes his head.

((Holy gosh!!!Wait...was the rat from before Carl's Dad too?
Also, just realized...rats have babies a lot at one time and very often...does that mean there's lots and lots of rats?))
Penny grabs Francis and Enhildabrigid. "Let's go!" she cried, running towards the door and beginning to hit it with an axe.
Saeva stepped towards the rat, then thought better of it and stepped back. If this rat was like Carl it was invincible...
Carl ran in and started speaking to his dad
Francis grabs her hand. "Who knows if that door is even going to open?" but then he sighs and lets Penny do her thing. He turns his attention to the other tributes, and grips his rope.
Penny continued to hit to door with an axe.Saeva felt a little better when Carl ran in.
Carl's dad nods. A bunch of other rats come in.

Penny shrieks slightly and continued to hit the door with her axe. It begins to give way.
Francis starts hyperventilating, but he doesn't have anything he can hit the door with.
Saeva groans. "Carl? These are nice rats? Right? Look, it's your sign..." she holds Carl's sign up towards him.
All the kid rats run up too Seave
"Hi..." Saeva says. "Nice rats...right? You are nice rats..." she begins to shake as well. She doesn't like to think of herself as afraid.Penny finally gets the door open, she gasps in relief as she runs out into the rain with Enhildabrigid and Francis in tow.
They all sniff her. They seem to like her
Saeva smiles at her. "Hello, guys. How you doing?"
They all smiled.

Francis hops and runs out the door, huffing.
August walks over to Saeva and stands next to her.
"Hey, Carl, where are you going?" Saeva asks sadly. Penny turns to Francis, just outside the doorway. "Where should we go?
"Anywhere but here," He says gasping. "Maybe...."
"Maybe?" Penny asks. "Carl!" Saeva said. she looked after him with a sad look on her face.
Carl looked back, then ran down the steps
"Carl where are you going." August asked.
"Maybe the arcade?" Francis whispers.
Carl reached the bottom then ran straight at an axe
"Okay," Penny responds. "Arcade it is. Maybe we can get a weapon or two for you there."Saeva is sad that Carl is leaving but is also preoccupied by all the other rats.
"Carl! Be careful with the axe!" Saeva called. "Don't hurt yourself! That's sharp and dangerous!"
Carl didn't slow. He was small and the thing could cut him straight in half
"Okay, I'll take Enhildabrigid." Francis says. He picks her up and runs to the arcade.
"Carl! You better not be suicidal!" Penny yelled, panicking now. She looked at August, who was not the one surrounded by rats. "Stop him!" she whispered frantically.
She grabbed the axe before Carl reached it.
