Lydia (lapetitelydia) | 94 comments I am going to read Six of Crows for this. Really enjoyed her Grisha trilogy. Looking forward to more of her writings!

Elizabeth (persephone17) I'm planning on reading Illuminae when it comes out. I quite liked Stormdancer(still need to finish that series!), and the plot of this sounds like something I could love. *fingers crossed*

Lydia (lapetitelydia) | 94 comments I have Stormdancer on my list! Can't remember for which category at the moment...

Found my choice for the year when it comes out - Go Set a Watchman

message 8: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Think I might have to wait for the new Harper Lee book for this one. So excited!!

message 9: by Mariel (new)

Mariel (marielmohns) I'm the same, Jennifer! I didn't know what book I wanted to read for this, but seeing the news today made me so excited! To Kill a Mockingbird is one of my favorite books, and Scout is one of my heroes. This should be good!

message 10: by Fay (new)

Fay Roberts That is exciting news. I had no idea a sequel was on the cards

Fay Roberts I read The Ruby Circle, the last in the Bloodlines series and loved it. I'm looking forward to Rochelle Mead's third instalment in the Age of X series later this year but I hope that another series may come out set in the world of Moroi and Dhampiers. Although Adrian and Sydney's story has come to a close there are many threads that could be picked up and many other characters to explore.

Samantha (samanyaaron) | 146 comments I finished reading The Ruby Circle by Richelle Mead as well for this category, it was much better than the previous book in the series. I will miss reading about the characters in these books now that its finished. I still think the Rose books were better stories than Sydneys but it was nice to see the re-occurring characters pop up again.

Rose's story arc is much more exciting, action packed and generally bad ass which suited Rose's personality. The Bloodlines series was slow to start with most of the action happening in the last two books. I related a lot more to Sydney as a character though - I aren't likely to solve a problem with a flying leap like Rose (although I'd like to!) but much more likely to solve it by looking up an answer on my phone.

Yeah that's very true, the book story arcs reflected both personalities quite well. I really didn't like Nina in the books and found myself shaking my head when I saw she was in this book as well. I also thought Zoe's quick change of mind was a bit rushed and a massive coincidence that they bumped into each other on way to find the clues but overall I thought it was a great ending to the series.

I completely agree with you re Zoe and Nina.

Jennifer I read 'Finders Keepers' by Stephen King for this one. Book 2 of a trilogy.

I really enjoyed it. One of his best since Joyland.

I know a lot of people slate his new books nowadays and I agree that a few are a bit 'meh'.

I think the problem is that many people grew up reading his books like I did. I used to love being scared when I read his books.

People still want this, but we're grown ups now so aren't scared as easily and to be honest King can't write horror anymore. He writes thrillers, very solid thrillers just like this one. We need to accept that the 'Master of Horror' has taken a step down to thriller, which isn't a bad thing.

Elizabeth (persephone17) For this, I read The Wrath and the Dawn, While I didn't love this book, I knew I was invested in the story when I read the book within three days. While in college. While I didn't love it assss much as other recent YA fantasy novels, it was still a good read. All of the characters were extremely well written, the plot was fast paced and the setting was stunning. I felt like I was in Rey, starting out over the terrace at the bustling city below. Ahdieh is an excellent writer, and I can't wait to continue reading this series and whatever else she reads. More Shazi & Khalid! It did lack a little something, not sure what, but I was still entertained. 3.25/5 stars.
