Rose's story arc is much more exciting, action packed and generally bad ass which suited Rose's personality. The Bloodlines series was slow to start with most of the action happening in the last two books. I related a lot more to Sydney as a character though - I aren't likely to solve a problem with a flying leap like Rose (although I'd like to!) but much more likely to solve it by looking up an answer on my phone.

Yeah that's very true, the book story arcs reflected both personalities quite well. I really didn't like Nina in the books and found myself shaking my head when I saw she was in this book as well. I also thought Zoe's quick change of mind was a bit rushed and a massive coincidence that they bumped into each other on way to find the clues but overall I thought it was a great ending to the series.

I completely agree with you re Zoe and Nina.

I really enjoyed it. One of his best since Joyland.
I know a lot of people slate his new books nowadays and I agree that a few are a bit 'meh'.
I think the problem is that many people grew up reading his books like I did. I used to love being scared when I read his books.
People still want this, but we're grown ups now so aren't scared as easily and to be honest King can't write horror anymore. He writes thrillers, very solid thrillers just like this one. We need to accept that the 'Master of Horror' has taken a step down to thriller, which isn't a bad thing.
