Question: key words and author’s name...I don't know about any author’s names that fit the exact words. Does that mean that an author like Myrtle Reed could be counted for “flower” or what did you have in mind for that?

Sorry, only exact or plural. Author-wise there will probably be less options, but i only listed author names on the slight chance it would work. I.e. Amanda Flower

Melanie, I have several books in the works. Would it be all right to count them if I start them over from page one and reread the section I've already read? I don't mind restarting. :)
One more question: it was stated that the word may be found in the text as well? Should we then quote the line we read this in the book in our review thread?

Melanie, I'm not seeing this in the rules but thought maybe we had asked in the planning phase...Did you say we could use the words as pictures on the cover?
Example for fence:
I don't know if I ever answered that, but yes items found on cover can work for the words (i.e. fence on cover for word fence).
At the beginning of some books, there is the year in which the story takes place. If that year is 18XX, does that work for "18"?
Staci, yes, i will count it for number, but as setting. (book set in 18xx)
Emily, yes, series number counts. :)
Emily, yes, series number counts. :)
Melanie - I know you said we are going with finished dates with this challenge...Does this mean that for example, I finish a book by the 28th but only most it on the 29th/30th it will still count for the 22-28 week?
If you finish a book on the 28th, but don't post until the 29th/30th, it will still only count for the 22-28 week It categories.
If you start on 28th, but finish on the 30th it counts for the 29th-5th week. It works for the date you finish. :)
Updating the threads on my tablet today. Trying my best to get it done quickly. New categories in 9 hours! :)

Week 2: June 29-July 5
Here are the IT categories for week two. Reminder that books read that don't work for any of the IT categories still count for page points, just not the bonus or double page points.
Genre: Contemporary
Word: ( can be found in title, author's name, series' name, object found on cover, or even in the book's text) flower
Number : (can be found in the title/series/name, page count, time/setting, or publication date) 11

Melanie, quick question. If I'm reading a time-slip story and one of the threads is contemporary, will that count for the contemporary It category?
Hannah wrote: "What about an old book that was contemporary when written? Like What Then is Love?"
That works, too, as it is contemporary since it was written then. :)

Melanie, thank you for the reminder about books counting even if not qualifying for the "IT" points!! Just added one of those.
Melanie, would you count those little flowers on the model's dress (shoulder area) for the keyword?
I don't know how well they show up in the icon. I have a paperback and could see them quite well on it.
Looks like the other two in the series *might* have flowers in the bead work and embroidery on the bodices of their dresses. What do you think?
Andrea, The Lost Heiress will count for flower, but the other two the embroidery doesn't really look like flowers.
Week 3: July 6-July 12
Here are the IT categories for week three. Reminder that books read that don't work for any of the IT categories still count for page points, just not the bonus or double page points.

Number : (can be found in the title/series/name, page count, time/setting, or publication date) 2
