I was given this book by a friend in Jr. High. Early 80s-ish. The male main character was a race car driver and his name was Slattery. The girl was a young, new sports journalist. She fakes sick and has her cousin go out with the mc at one point in the story and they enjoy making the cousin go up and downstairs to bring her water or tea in her too tight clothes and too high heels. They also manage a trip to the Seychelles in the plot somehow. Any help is appreciated!
