Someone asked how old I was and he responded before I had a chance "it's the 3rd anniversary of her 29th birthday". Just like that *snap*! It was great!
I, however, plan to hit 40 and turn back around going down (second chance at 38, etc.) :D :D :D
My sister in law turned 40 last year and refused to acknowledge it. She didn't want a party or birthday wishes or anything. She's 4 years older than my brother, the youngest in the family. When he turns 40 I'm sure my mother will be besides herself. My sister, the eldest turns 60 in 2 years so maybe that one will hit her harder.
Tonya wrote: ""it's the 3rd anniversary of her 29th birthday"...."I love that XD
I'm a little torn about turning 30. I feel like I'm not where I expected to be in life, but at the same time I'm rather excited what this next chapter has in store for me.

1st spell out done! Yay!

Sorry about skipping Dear Martin - Failed to notice when it switched to reading in the progress column! Trying to stick to only books in progress on the updates to keep it more up to date.
I loved the Outlander series, but they are definitely chunky books. My copy of Cross-stitch (UK title for #1) ended up slightly ruined after shampoo leaked on it while travelling about 16 years ago. Still got it though!

That's quick thinking, I like it! Might need to remember that for my birthday in September. Not likely to do much big given I'll be 6 months pregnant.
Mary - your poor mum! Those 2 are going to have a big impact! 18 years from oldest to youngest is a big spread.
Victoria - stay excited! Life turns up the unexpected all the time, and hopefully something happy that wasn't in the original plan will end up happening instead.

I stuck with the audio version of Outlander - listening while working and doing other things... thus, I will need to reread when I'm ready for the full series!

Sophie, I'm finding tags while taking a break from audiobooks (Supernatural on Netflix :D). Can I get a "verdict" on time-and-space being applicable? It's a tag on Outlander.
Thanks!
Unfortunately the tags need to be exact (or plurals) to count.
It's definitely not a bad series to reread. Have lost count of the times I've read the early ones.

I figured about the tag, but wanted to confirm!
Sophie wrote: "1st spell out done! Yay!"
Sophie - looking at the status sheet, the tags that I've identified for Outlander aren't showing. I'm still checking for tags on that and others but I just wanted to draw attention to it so we can have those points! :D
Hey Team,I am around. Reading up a storm and just enjoying my holiday. Taking time away from the laptop. WFH really took a toll and am happy to spend less time on the laptop. Will update the SS tonight. I have a few books to contribute 😊
I should finish Storm Front today and I'm about half-way through Dotty Dowager. Then I'll listen to Lost Carousel
Just finished The Lies That Bind. Really big disappointment of a book. There's a 9/11 theme that gets thrown out there but never addressed. Overall, would not recommend!
Tonya - Thanks for pointing that out, they've been added now. Good luck with Stoneheart!
Nicole - time away from laptop is never a bad thing! I know a break from the screen is often v much needed! I hope your holiday is going well so far.
Mary - sounds like you're reading at pace too!
Samantha - that's a real shame. Hate it when things are thrown in without purpose.
I'm reading Dear Martin (BOM) atm and finding it v heavy going. There's an awful lot to think about in it and it feels much bigger than 200p. I'm not sure I'd count it as a young adult book apart from the fact the characters are in their last year of High School (so 17ish?)

Nicole - enjoy your holiday! I am with you on needing to take a break from screensMary - you reading Storm Front reminded me I need to read the new Dresden book!
Sophie- I was going to read Dear Martin but I must have missed my library loan and now it's another 5 week wait. I think I might just buy The Sun Down Motel as it's also still a long wait but one I really want to read, not sure yet about Dear Martin.
Victoria - Scribd have a month free trial at the moment and I'm reading it via that. They also got Pachinko on audio, but unfortunately not The Sun Down Motel (which I enjoyed!) and Spin the Wind. Such a pain when a loan goes by without you noticing.

I'm not likely to be around much during the day tomorrow as we've got tickets to go to the zoo. I'll be around tomorrow evening though and will try to check in later tonight and tomorrow morning before we go.
I used an audible credit on Peace Talks. Right now my plan is to reread the series but I may not be able to wait that long.

Thanks Sophie! I'm doing Stoneheart on audio because it's narrated by Jim Dale (love him) - it'll be tomorrow though because I must get away from this computer!
I'm also middle of Dear Martin and there's some BIG issues in it but I'm enjoying it. I may have to look into the sequel.
Finished Silkkejä... yesterday, marked on SS. The weather is lovely, we're at the summer cottage, painted a shed today, now MIL left and hubby and daughter went for a round of golf, so finally have time to read (and opened a bottle of riesling). Have a great weekend everybody!

Yay for quiet alone time after a productive day! I hope the book (and Riesling) have been good.
We had a fantastic time at the zoo today. They'd limited tickets so it was relatively quiet and the sun shone. Joe seemed to think the best bit was jumping in the very few puddles he found rather than looking at the animals, but he was happy so who cares!

Sophie - Thanks, will check for it on scribd. And glad you had a great time at the zoo, even if Joe preferred the puddles lol Mary - I was planning on re-reading dresden, but forgot about my intentions and now don't want to wait!
Camilla - ooh I love good riesling! And now I wish I had some *sigh*
I covered the front desk for another manager's clinic yesterday because she's short staffed. Couldn't listen to any books while working front. Back at my normal job next week and also have the weekend to read. I'm part way through Calamity Jane and Witchy Business and listening to an audiobook I haven't added to the spreadsheet yet.
I love the Dresden Files too. My next book to read for that series is Changes. I was reading them, but I have found that the audiobooks are very nice to listen to. I think James Marsden does a really good job.
My reading has been slower this week for some reason... finished a France book & updated on SS.I avoided my 30th & told my family I didn’t want any cards or gifts saying 30. Overall I still prefer my 20s. Best thing about my 30s has been meeting my now fiancé. He’s younger than me but I don’t look in my 30s so people don’t usually guess by looking at us lol.
I read most of them in print the first time around and I'm doing audio this time. He is an excellent narrator I looked to see if scribd had them to do the 30 day free trial but they don't.
Mary C wrote: "I read most of them in print the first time around and I'm doing audio this time. He is an excellent narrator I looked to see if scribd had them to do the 30 day free trial but they don't."I get them from my library's digital collection
Camilla wrote: "Which zoo did you visit, Sophie?"
We went to Port Lymphne zoo which is about an hours drive from us. Normally they have safari jeeps and things, but they weren't running so lots of walking to see as much as we could manage in a day.
Dresden - it's been awhile since I read any of them. Think I got as far as Cold Days. Might have to re-read some before I go any further.
Jenn- I'm glad you get to go back to normal soon!
Hope everyone enjoys their weekends.

I have another tagged book (for France) so if we need extra tags I'll finish it tonight, and will definitely be able to finish Reflection before the deadline
Hey Sophie, Just letting you know that the Books for Round 3 formula on the Member Info tab in the official spreadsheet is broken. The formula should be $D:$D not $B:$B.
Thanks - the formula need tweaking every round and it sometimes slips past me if the one on our team sheet works well. Should be working properly now.
Thanks for the heads up Jenn. We should be able to find other things to cover those tags. Sure I've got something set in space hiding on my kindle somewhere!

I am starting Harry Potter and the Halfblood Prince and Witte Kaarten. I am not sure if I will finish them this week so I will not put them in the spreadsheet yet. When I do finish one of them before the deadline I will put it in.
I spent the day at the beach with a friend so not much reading done today. But I'm taking tomorrow off. They are taking out the rest of that area where that precancerous mole was on my shoulder. Not looking forward to that. I got a light sunburn on that shoulder today too so hopefully they can still do it. I'm mad because I used Neutrogena SPF70 and reapplied it several times and I still got red. But I'll go in there and see.
