What awful and terrible news! I can't imagine what you're going through as a parent. You're in my prayers as you're trying to process and cope with your loss.

Thank You Lexi I will take all the prayers I can get. Especially to get the anger out of my heart towards the person who hit him. I have taken time today to get online and added my books to the SS but thank you for the offer.

Foxy Grandma (foxygrandma) | 450 comments Thank you everyone for the prayers and kind words, It will take a long time to heal, but we are pulling together and doing our best. I may not check in much in the next few weeks, but I will continue to read books and post on SS when I can.
Again thank you all for understanding and for your prayers. It means a lot.

So I kinda feel like a petty jerk-face for even bringing this up Foxy Grandma.

Your book An Easy Death isn't on your wheel shelf. And your book Stars of Fortune has the wrong year in the date (it's marked as 2019 instead of 2020).

If you can fix these as some point before Friday that would be great. If not, please don't worry about it, you seriously have much more important things to be focusing on. I'm sure both are a result of GR being special and we can get it worked out some other way.

You take care of you and yours. And as Lexi said, she and I are happy to do whatever logging or finding tasks, etc. It doesn't seem like enough, but if it helps, we are more than happy to do it.

And I mean it seriously about the minor issues with a couple of your books. We will get it worked out with the mods.

April | 200 comments I finished The Ocean at the End of the Lane and updated the SS.

It had that Coraline feel, but just didn't get there for me

NG is a really hit or miss author for me. Some of his I've really enjoyed and others . . .just no.

Melanie (mvalente89) | 1026 comments Would this work for the task of circles on the cover? Specifically the halo light things behind the title.

Never Look Back (Criminal Profiler, #3) by Mary Burton

That works for me.

Also, I moved one of your books to I, could you add the reason why please?

Great, I'll update my task for that one. And I added the character the I works for. I also noticed another of mine moved to E so I added the character who works for that.

Sixty, I got you covered. There’s a BOM tab we track it on, but I (or Lexi) try to grab links to posts for team members if they haven’t beaten us to it.

Answers to 3 question sets is the minimum for participation points, so you won’t see links for all 5 days.

I thought The Sun Down Motel was a really good read, hope you enjoy it.

And if you decide to answer the questions, you have until 1 month from the start of the BOM to answer at least 3 sets of the DQs for the bonus points.

For The Sun Down Motel that means Aug 2 and Dear Martin would be Aug 16.

Melanie (mvalente89) | 1026 comments Judith an FYI, the Master Task List in the planning spreadsheet isn't counting the tasks used on the Round 2 sheet. There's an error in the formula for the columns referenced from the Round 2 sheet (using columns E&K instead of D&J).

Thanks, I thought I'd fixed it after our Round 2 sheet was deleted and then recovered. Going to fix it now.

Lexi | 4247 comments Round Three is up. Our next word is Zoom Calls. Keep and eye out for Z and O. The planning SS is also up for those who like to claim letters.

Round Three - "Zoom Calls"

I have also added this info with links to the front of the thread.

Judith (brownie72011) | 7434 comments Mod
I think we are all running out of Y's. LOL

message 334: by Melanie (new)

Melanie (mvalente89) | 1026 comments Yay, Z's! I had a few books I've been saving for a Z, so I claimed a couple of them.

Question, would this one work for task 80 forest on cover? The woman appears to be walking through a forest/the woods and it takes place at a cabin in the woods. But I don't know how many trees are needed to count as a forest? Or really the difference between woods and a forest.

The Birthday Girl by Sue Fortin

If not, I have other tasks it could work for so no big deal if woods aren't the same as a forest.

message 335: by Lexi (new)

Lexi | 4247 comments That works, no one is going to count the trees.

message 336: by Melanie (new)

Melanie (mvalente89) | 1026 comments Lexi wrote: "That works, no one is going to count the trees."

Ok great. I think I'm overthinking some of these.

Gem ~ZeroShelfControl~ (zeroshelfcontrol) | 441 comments I’ve finished a book that I’ve started and given up numerous times over the past year but I started it again 7 days ago and I’ve just finished it tonight. Can I use it?

message 340: by Lexi (new)

Lexi | 4247 comments When you started it again, did you start from the beginning of the book?

message 341: by Gem ~ZeroShelfControl~ (last edited Jul 09, 2020 01:49AM) (new)

Gem ~ZeroShelfControl~ (zeroshelfcontrol) | 441 comments Yes - i think I've read the first 40 pages 4 times.

message 342: by Judith (new)

Judith (brownie72011) | 7434 comments Mod
Lol, sheesh. It sounds like, yes, you can use it.

As long as when you restarted it, it was during this challenge and you started over at page 1, you can use it. Both of the answers to those questions seem to be yes, so you are good!

Most letters are available in the last spelling, but if yours doesn’t fit in an open slot, let us know. We can shift books around to make it fit.

Gem ~ZeroShelfControl~ (zeroshelfcontrol) | 441 comments Great thank you, I have added it on :)

LOL! Lexi was mentioning to me the same thing. Though we might want to be careful or our next spelling will be Pub Quizzing.

I have some I'm holding onto and I think Jhmingos does as well.

I'm with Jhmingos though when she mentioned getting a break from the Y's.

And thanks for letting us know about Sabi. I'll get it moved over to Round 3's sheet.

Melanie (mvalente89) | 1026 comments Question, are we able to use the plural version of an MPG for one of the tasks? Not sure if the plural/singular rule only applies to tags or if it can work for tasks as well.

Task 138 - Read a book with MPG Western

The below book has the MPG Westerns, so I'm wondering if I can use it for that?

A Cowboy State of Mind (Creedence Horse Rescue #1) by Jennie Marts
