You would need to find a tag or list, something that I can check without knowing or reading the book, that shows it is set in one of the coastal states. If you want to share the book, either here or in a PM, I can check to see if there is something I can find. 😊

No. You would need a law enforcement or similar tag, bounty hunter in the precis or somewhere else is not going to qualify.

I've been working on the tasks and hope to get them posted later. I believe it is safe to say retired or former military will work, but it needs to be tagged or in some other way verifiable.

Please remember that all tags/lists must qualify IN CONTEXT!! Links MUST be provided.
Don't make more work for yourself than necessary - if the qualifier is in the title or on the cover, use it! You don't have to go searching for tags to make it work. 😊 If the link you use for the book is the same you are using for the page count and edition - say so (see above edition or something similar)! That saves us all some steps. But please double check your links!
You may use separate editions of your Scavenger Hunt books to qualify for the different tasks. Links MUST be provided.
E is for Early - Read the prequel or first book in a series.
To qualify for this task, the book has to have be 1 or lower in a series listed on GR. Please provide the link to the series page in your completion post. For this task, the series must have a series page on GR.
E is for Earth - Read a book with dirt on the cover.
To qualify, the book's cover needs to show the ground. The book has to have something that comes from the earth that you can walk on, i.e. dirt, sand, or grass, on the cover. The ground can't be covered with anything manmade like a sidewalk, street or boardwalk. Snow also doesn't qualify - it doesn't come from the earth.
E is for Enlist - Read a book featuring military characters.
To qualify for this task, the book needs to have a character that is active or former military. This can be indicated in the precis, title, series, tags or lists. The following tags/lists will be allowed: military, vet (not implying veterinarian), veteran, soldier, navy, army, air force, marines, SEAL, Army Ranger, fighter pilot. Combo tags will be allowed IN CONTEXT - so if your book is tagged 'cops_firemen_military', but the precis indicates the hero is a sheriff for example (or even if all the other tags just indicate law enforcement), the book will be disqualified. I strongly suggest you find other qualification if possible - I will be SUPER PICKY with the combo tags.
E is for Excursion - Read a book that includes a trip or vacation.
To qualify, your book needs to include a trip or vacation. This can be indicated in the precis, title, tag or list. For this task, I will also allow two different settings listed in the book details on the main book page to qualify.

Sand will work. Dirt on a person will not. Rocks if they are the kind you can walk on yes, if they are the kind you climb then no.

I'm going to say yes, that involves a trip to me.

I'm going to say yes, that involves a trip to me."
Follow-up, if it says they're "on leave" in the precis would that be enough?
Also if there is a planet in the background on the cover does that count for Earth? Thanks again!

Planet in the background isn't going to work, that doesn't fit the qualifications laid out.

1) would you accept "warrior"/"warlord" for the enlist since in historicals people on the army are referred that way?
2) If the precis says that the character "is back in the city" or "returns home" could indicate a trip?
3) if the book has tags from different location (like "colombia" and "costa rica") it could be evidence for trip?
4) is MPG Military Fiction a qualifier for enlist?

1) would you accept "warrior"/"warlord" for the enlist since in historicals people on the army are referred that way?
2) If the precis says that the character "is back in the city..."
1. To work for enlist, they need to be in an organized militia or military group. Warlord does not imply that. Warrior would need to be in a specific context.
2. In context, those could work. Something like 'now that he is back in his hometown' does not imply that travel took place in the book. I would need what you are using to imply that the travel happens in the story.
3. If I can quickly and easily verify that they're definitely 2 different locations, I will allow tags for different locations. For example, two different states or countries. Something like 'New England' and 'Massachusetts', 'France' and 'Europe' or 'Rio' and 'South America' will not work.
4. MPG Military Fiction will work, but don't forget you need MPG Romance as well!

No, they don't have to travel together.

Yes, as long that there isn't something that contradicts that.

Perhaps, it would depend on what you can see around it. Tree on its own where you can't see where it is planted is not going to work.

MKat you left my questions lol :D

Oops! Sorry about that. I scroll up and down so much when there are numerous questions at once, I am surprised it doesn't happen more! 🤦🏻♀️
I think all of those would work in context. I am most concerned about 'stranded', but in the right context it should be ok too.

It's alright and thank you :-) I wouldn't even know how to handle so many questions 😂

Believe it or not, I have to say in context. If it is something like 'read while traveling' or 'travel book', that isn't going to work. Though a travel book with Romance MPG is not likely, you know what I mean.

Woo hoo! First time!"

I just KNEW I was going to get Longest Date. But No. Wrong.

Am I right in thinking that because a book doesn't have the page count on this site it won't count for this challenge? The amazon count isn't accepted here is it?
Thanks

If there is a page count on Amazon, you can provide a link to that and it will be good. It always helps if you add a note that GR doesn't have a page count so you are using the Amazon Kindle one.

You may use separate editions of your Scavenger Hunt books to qualify for the different tasks. Links MUST be provided.
L is for Lips - Read a book with lips on the cover.
To qualify for this task, the cover of your chosen book need to clearly and obviously show at least one pair of lips. The lips can not be covered by anything - a hat or a hand for example, they need to be clearly visible. Please make sure to show the cover in your completion post.
L is for Listen - Read a book available as an audiobook.
To qualify, the book needs to be available as an audiobook. You do not need to listen to the audiobook, but one needs to be available. Please link to the audio edition on GR of your chosen book. If that is not available, please provide a link to audible (preferred) or Amazon showing the audio edition.
L is for Loner - Read a stand alone book.
To qualify for this task, the book can not be listed in any series on GR. When I look at the main book page, there can be nothing where the series is typically listed and when I look at other editions of the book, none of them can be listed in a series either.
L is for Loved - Read a book rated 4.3 or higher.
To qualify, your book needs to have an average GR rating of 4.3 or higher. This information can be found under the title and author on the main book page. If your chosen book has few ratings and has the potential to drop under an average rating of 4.3, it would be advisable to either take a screenshot showing the qualifying rating or get prior confirmation that your book qualifies. Please include a note in your completion post if either applies. If your rating has the potential to lower the average rating, I would suggest you not rate it until the date has ended and your book has been confirmed.

I will be away from my computer tomorrow, so questions will need to wait until I get back. I may check in tomorrow evening, but I'm not making any promises! 😁
