Looking for a Thriller With no Children in Danger

I'd love a page turning thriller to get my mind off life but I can't handle stories with kids who are lost/kidnapped/in jeopardy etc. For example, loved Gone Girl and Woman in Cabin 10, couldn't cope with The Woman in the Window.
Sometimes it's hard to tell these things from the blurb so I'd love suggestions! Thanks.

The Girl in Ice is a good book it's a thriller and it's the first of a series.
