Kathy Shuker (kathyshuker) | 523 comments I notice that there's a showing of a P D James' interview with Mark Lawson at 8 pm tonight on BBC4. She had a very full - and eventful - life and her insights into writing and crime novels were always fascinating. I thought it might be of interest...

Kathy Shuker (kathyshuker) | 523 comments I finally got round to watching this last night. I wonder if anyone else saw it? She was such an intelligent and articulate woman, and she came across as very humble and very able to laugh at herself. I have to admit to never having read any of her Adam Dalgliesh detective novels - too much blood for me, I'm afraid; I'm pathetically squeamish - but it was interesting to hear how her books changed as she wrote. Everything was moveable, apparently, except the identity of the murderer, the nature of the crime and where it was committed. 'The Place', as she put it was key to her plot and the first thing she decided.
