Bryan--The Bee’s Knees (theindefatigablebertmcguinn) | 141 comments I have this one queued up on my TBR pile, though it'll be a few more days before I can start on it.

Jane Huttner | 157 comments I started reading it today. I got through Act 1 and 2.

Marlise (mawz76) | 171 comments I finished this today and was a bit torn between giving it 3 or 4 stars. I ended up giving it 4 because of how well it expressed the dynamics in a family full of addiction (I come from one). It was probably the saddest thing I've read this year and I think my inclination to give it 3 stars was due to the way it ended, which I think would have been an unfair way to judge it. I think the dynamic between the brothers was what left an impression upon me the most.

Jane Huttner | 157 comments I finished Long Day's Journey into Night and I gave it 3 stars. It is a sad book but definitely not as sad as A Clockwork Orange was.

I liked how very well it expressed the dynamics of a family that the mother was addicted to morphine and the father and Jamie to alcohol. My father was an alcoholic and James Tyrone was a lot like him because if you didn't do as he said he got very angry and would rage about it.

S.L. Berry | 9 comments I started reading it yesterday and am 1/2 way through. It’s definitely sad though not as sad as much of The Grass Is Singing.

S.L. Berry | 9 comments Finished. It's a short well-written play that is so maudlin yet insightful and relevant in today's world on a number of different themes -- nature vs. nuture, self-love v. self-hate, individual responsibility vs. environmental and societal causation. I can't say that I liked any of the characters though Cathleen was at least a break in the constant downhill slide into oblivion.

Bryan--The Bee’s Knees (theindefatigablebertmcguinn) | 141 comments I did finally start this--made it through act I this evening. I can't say I'm very crazy about it start with. We'll see where it goes.
