Interesting recommendation requests there!

If you're looking for good post apco, sci-fi but with misfity characters, give Mason Johnson's Sad Robot Stories a shot. You can download the ebook free from the publishers website, so no harm, no foul if you don't dig it. Though I really loved it.

Also, give Eric Shonkwiler's Above All Men a read. My favorite post apoc novel of 2014!

Vanessa Veselka's Zazen's got a killer leading lady. You'll love it, and it's also kinda apocalyptic too.

Isaac Marion's Warm Bodies's is totally hot girl falling for dead guy great. Have you seen the movie? I read the book when it first came out, and actually liked it better than the film.

I can go on and on.. but I think if you dig into these, you'll be off to a great start.

Ash (morethanfairytales) | 63 comments If you liked Scott Pilgrim, check out Bryan Lee O'Malley's Seconds: A Graphic Novel. It has magical elements, a strong, edgy female protagonist, and some romance thrown in with a less dominant male character (although that isn't necessarily the main focus of the story). Good luck & happy reading!

Robert Cowan | 4 comments Can anyone suggest a great character driven, edgy drama. Maybe a mix of Roddy Doyle, Chris Brookmyre and Irvine Welsh?

I recently started reading Istanbul by Orhan Pamuk. It won a lot of awards and is pretty good so far. Check it out!
