Haha it’d be possible - although I’d be interested to know more about the etymology of the slur

Chapter 6 Thoughts
I can understand why they cut all this content from the movie. I don’t think I’m a fan of Tom Bombadil and all his singing.

Ikr, the singing is a bit over the top
Oof, the singing! 😅 I was on audiobook when I read the Tom Bombadil bits... that was an interesting time lmao. Although I couldn't help but view him and Goldberry with some suspicion at certain points, but could be just me looking for something big to happen any time soon lol

I have to say I had the biggest book-crush on Aragorn when I was a kid hahah
I knew about the Aragorn hype beforehand and I swear I was like 👀👀👀👀👀👀👀 when Gandalf first mentioned him lmao. I can't wait to meet him!
Chapter 7 Thoughts
I cannot believe he put on the ring for such a silly reason. Arrrgh.
Also all this talk of barrows and wights are giving me huge Witcher vibes.
Chapter 8 Thoughts
And finally we’re back on track. The one thing I liked about Tom was him telling the hobbits how awful they are at journeying.
😂😂 yes they are awful at it! And well I feel like a lot of High Fantasy was inspired by Tolkien- I mean the Hobbit was published in the 30s!
I finally made some progress, not like a lot but I read four chapters 🎊🎊 Next one I have to read is chapter 9
😂 I found the Tom Bombadil chapters interesting, but also I found them interesting because I, like Selina, thought something would happen... and it didn't. Those chapters gave me "some shit is going to happen" vibes.

I have finally finished it.
Sadly, I didn't enjoy it, and I feel disappointed by that. It was to dense for me and my mind would more often than not wander while listening/reading to the book.

I have a confession to make 😅Somewhere before they met Strider in the book, I got it into my head to watch the movie alongside the book. And at first I was only watching 10 minutes of the movie everyday and I was like "I'm gonna stop at the point where they meet Strider (and I was shookt bc I realized Strider was Aragorn!!) and then I'll carry on with the book".
Well.
I ended up becoming so obsessed with the movie and the next thing I know, I'm on movie #2 and I'm still at the beginning of chapter 10 of book 1 🙈 Unfortunately, I prefer the movie because it's really a lot more exciting than the book :( But I am still reading! And I have made it to the beginning of Book 2, Chapter 3 before the party leaves with the ring.
I'm really sad to find that the events leading up to their arrival in Rivendell is completely different in the book bc I really enjoyed Arwen in the movie bc I love Liv Tyler and her and Aragorn in the movie really hit the spot. And so I am, so far, not enjoying the book as much as I did the movie. That's really so weird to say haha. Don't be surprised if I complete all the movies by Sunday lmao!
Chapter 4 note: Can we talk about how Mr. Maggot has a dog named Fang and so does Hagrid so J.K Rowling probably stole and reused the name from LOTR?
