The book was slightly larger than letter size, not very thick (maybe 3/8" thick). It had a jacket on it but the main cover was solid black in very textured cloth.
It was a series of stories of vamipire myths and legends from around the world (I believe). One was about a grandmother who snatched young babies, another about a vampire ware-wolf. The illustrations were dark, eerie, specifically remember a full page ware-wolf image. The baby snatching story had an image of a log cabin or shack, and the grandmother holding a dead baby. Also had a story about a demon sitting on a woman's chest, his eyes are glowing and she is wearing a white gown.
The book did not seem older than 1980's, 1970's at the absolute earliest. I have some notion that is is part of a set or series of books about similar themes, as I also had a similar book on paranormal events such as UFOs, egyptian pyramids, rituals, etc.
Thank you!
