Hello Leah! How nice of you to offer your time to a group of indie authors looking for reviews. If you are interested in mature YA romance, I have two books intended for 18+ readers. Both are standalone with cross-over characters and HEAs. I've included the links:https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4...
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5...
If either of these sound good to you, I'd be happy to supply copies. My email is ugarps@yahoo.com.
Cheers,
Charisse
I've just completed my 4th novel, Grumpy Old Man, which is in need of reviews. Any help that anyone could give me will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!Tom L
Grumpy Old Man
Synopsis
Grumpy Old Man is a hilarious satire on modern day life in the East Bay Area of San Francisco. (Think #Carl Hiaasen writing about California, not Florida) It’s also a perplexing murder mystery that takes place during and just after the Pandemic.
When millionaire land owner Ramsay Marshall turns up dead in Lake Tahoe waters, his daughter Sophia suspects foul play. She hires Palmer Doyle, a disabled Afghan War vet turned private investigator.
Sophia and Palmer have history. Fifteen years ago, in Afghanistan, when Palmer was injured in a bomb explosion Sophia was the Army trauma nurse who pieced Palmer back together. There was a spark between them then but both were married.
Now years later both of their spouses are deceased; Sophia and Palmer are single and the spark between them is alive. Still attracted to Sophia and determined to win her favor, Palmer puts his staff of oddball Investigators on the case. There is a lot at stake. Ramsay’s estate is worth $50 Million dollars, maybe more? Besides Sophia there are two other heirs; her half-brother Brad, a gambling addict who keeps Viagra in his system 24/7, and Ramsay’s third wife, Jojo, a trophy bride, forty years his junior and a former bikini barista.
Grumpy Old Man is fast paced mesmerizing thriller, full of humor, slapstick comedy, and oddball plot twists that will keep you glued to the last page. #gamblingaddict #bikinibarista #californiahomeless #sushimurders #doglovers #mystery #pandemic

“Tenkara has created something very special here…It’s quite unlike anything I have ever read, deftly mixing childhood angst, alcoholism, abuse, and even some supernatural elements.” Author Alex Robins
“For those of you who like surprising, and uplifting endings…be prepared. Smart knocks it out of the proverbial park in the final two paragraphs…She Named Me wolf is a remarkable debut.” Author Claudia Piepenburg

But when a detective from the Metropolitan police turns up at his door, demanding to know why his fortune cookies keep turning up at crime scenes, Steve is forced to re-evaluate everything he knows about life, death, love, and family.

Hi Mel,My book is titled INNOCENCE DERAILED and is written for New Adult and women's fiction. It's a coming-of-age, historical romance. There is sweet sex mixed in with grand adventures, and seasoned with thought-provoking definitions of faith. (I know...but it works!)

After questioning everything she knows about God and love, Kate contemplates suicide on a foggy cliff late one night but decides to ride the 1970 hippie currents of free love and rebellion instead. It's a short read of only 147 pages. I would describe it as 'a novel of intrigue'. Here is a bit of blurb:
'The Villa - a palatial mansion built by entrepreneur Frank du Maurier - is the setting for a fast-paced tale of intrigue, betrayal and murder involving two successive generations of the same family. Tony Melville, the innocent narrator, finds himself embroiled in a commercial fraud perpetrated by du Maurier, and only narrowly escapes jail. Fifteen years later, following du Maurier's death in an air crash, the nightmare begins again as du Maurier's adult children return to live at The Villa in a strange and unsettling ménage dominated by the enigmatic and Machiavellian Fontini Conti. This time Tony is not just fighting for his freedom - he is fighting for his life.'
I'd be very happy to arrange for a free Kindle copy to be emailed to you if you would be good enough to let me know your email address (or happy to send you a paperback if you are in the UK). Please do let me know if you're interested. Many thanks indeed, Jim Vincent jimavincent@outlook.com

Hiya Mel,I hope you're OK! I'm looking for reviewers of the second book in my Armitage Black series, Damned Curious, which follows on from the first book (Death By Curiosity) but can be read as a standalone. I've popped the blurb so you can see if this is of interest to you:
Everyone has their demons.
But most people don’t claim that theirs are actual demons.
So when local newsreader Dave Richmond is found murdered, and it’s claimed that a bona fide demon is to blame, local Police Typist Armitage Black finds her curiosity well and truly piqued.
After meeting the ungrieving widow, and despite the best efforts of Cattringham County’s hottest Detective to keep her out of the investigation, Armitage becomes obsessed with finding out what happened to Richmond and getting to the bottom of ‘Peggy’, the demon that his family seem to have adopted.
But as the case progresses and another body turns up, Armitage finds herself well and truly caught in Peggy’s web – one so carefully crafted, there might not be a way out of it...
I can send the first book if you'd like to read and review this as well. Please just drop me a line if you're interested :)
Thanks in advance,
Lisa

A timeless tale of love reborn through the ages.
Marcus has past life memory and his soulmate Theron does not, but the two lovers are bound by an eternal and unshakable bond. Mel,If you're still taking in books to review, please contact me at thomasjamesthorson@gmail.com. I have a mystery coming out in July so I have an ARC (pdf or hard copy) ready to read in advance of the release date. Here's a summary to see if it piques your interest:
It begins when the naked body of a businessman is discovered in a bathtub surrounded by a bizarre selection of props left behind by the killer as a taunt to law enforcement. Two more murders with similarly staged scenes connecting them to the first soon follow. Recruited to join the investigation against their will, Mal and Vinn are drawn into the dark world of genius-level puzzle addicts and a killer who challenges them with riddles. They soon discover a pattern that teases the occupations of both future killers and victims but reveals little else as they race to identify the person behind the murders before the carnage reaches their own inner circle. As the body count rises, they realize that justice can only be served outside of traditional law enforcement methods and that the ultimate solution will come at the cost of either their careers or their lives.
Thanks!

Mel,I have an ARC on NetGalley and would appreciate your comments and review.
"At the Crest of the Hill" is an epic story—simply and uniquely told through the eyes of adolescence: A prophecy is discovered etched on an ancient monolith, a child is missing and must be found, battles are fought, betrayal and love hold influence, and a final court proceeding reveals all to the world. Phoenix Atherton is to give birth to a female child. The child will become the second savior, and the world will change.
Rocket, a seeker, is new to Heaven, having recently died at the age of fifteen. She is cynical and irreverent. Her perspective is swayed by immaturity. She just wants to go home. Why can’t mankind take care of its freakin’ self? Van Buren is as old as the ages and a resourceful groog for the Kingdom of Adeez. He is cruel and mindless. His perspective is blunted by his Master’s commands. He just wants to cause pain and watch the glowing, dancing televizun box. Both spirits set out on a reluctant journey to influence and transform Phoenix Atherton, a woman at the lowest point of her life. But it is Phoenix who has the influence, and the spirits who are transformed. You will laugh, think, and feel—a condition The Master holds in low regard.
The NetGalley link is below, or I'm happy to provide a print or PDF. I hope to hear from you.
Best,
Teena

Hi!I wanted to ask if you'd be interested in reviewing my self-published book Finding Wonderland? It's been unavailable for a few years while I revised it and I'm planning to re-release the book in November. I'd love some honest, early reviews before then, good or bad!
It's about Lucy Dunne, a down on her luck twenty-something, who goes home for her little sister's New Years Eve wedding. Instead, while visiting local legend Holland Hotel, she's transported back in time during the last week of 1914- right before the infamous inferno that burned the hotel down. The longer she stays in the hotel, the stronger her bond to the place and the mysteriously Alice In Wonderland-like residents' hold on her grows. Lucy must get back to her own time or figure out a way to help before she's caught in the disaster too.
It is a fantasy adventure with a touch of romance and comedy. There are many characters inspired by characters found in Alice In Wonderland but you don't have to love those books to enjoy Finding Wonderland which is an easy read at 259 pages . I'd love it if you're interested in reviewing it (but I understand if you pass). I can send it to you as a word doc or pdf and I'll be more than willing to mention you in my acknowledgments.
Thanks for considering,
Mary

Hi Mel!Are you still interested in memoir/autobiography books to review? I am on a quest to get 500 book reviews and I could use your help!
You'll probably enjoy reading my story if you’re a Jeannette Walls and Esmeralda Santiago fan. My memoir is ‘When I was Puerto Rican’ meets ‘The Glass Castle’.
“Running in Heels: A Memoir of Grit and Grace” is the journey of a coming-of-age Puerto Rican girl seeking love and security with her difficult mother in an impoverished home who becomes a teenage bride to a ruthless man twice her age. She has her first child at seventeen and her fourth at twenty-two. Can she overcome insurmountable obstacles of poverty, racism, alcoholism, violence, and abandonment while hope is shattered time after time?
I wrote this book to show that contrary to popular belief, you don’t have to be a product of your environment. Your past does not define who you are.
If you're interested, I can shoot over a digital copy in hopes that if you enjoy it, you'd be willing to share an honest review.

‘Fire and Tears’ is an emotionally gripping suspense thriller!!!

Caution ⚠️: Mature Audience Recommended. Potentially triggering content such as abuse, brutality, and sexual assault.
Overview:
Jade speeds down the road in a stolen vehicle determined to get away from the man relentlessly pursuing her. She flips over the guardrail and lands nose-down on the tree-covered mountainside. Staggering out of the car and bleeding from her head, she knows her life is in danger. However, Jade’s determination won’t allow her to stop there. Especially not when Ivan starts to pursue her on foot. She’d rather take her chances running down the snowy mountainside on a cold winter night with only the light of the full moon to guide her way. Would this be just another escape attempt gone awry?
Jade is a stubborn, persistent, and compassionate seventeen-year-old girl with some grit and some wit. She is sold to the highest bidder by her stepfather, a man once a hero to her, but now a monster. And he wouldn’t be the only monster she would have to face. Nor the only monster she would fight. Because she would fight. She can’t help but fight, even when she knows the odds are against her.
When Jade is sold to a wealthy businessman, Ivan, she expects to become his sex slave, but things take an unexpected turn when she is gifted to Ivan’s brother. Seemingly now in the clear, Jade quickly realizes that Ivan remains a constant threat, and he shows no intention of ceasing his pursuit, despite his brother’s demands not to touch her.
Meanwhile, there is a mysterious man who has been looking for Jade when he realizes she may be in danger, but every time he gains an inch, he loses a mile. When he finally manages to get her to safety, Jade has a hard time truly escaping her monsters when her mind won’t let her forget what Ivan did to her. But perhaps forgetting her monsters isn’t how she’s meant to overcome her battles. No. Perhaps facing them is the only way for her to have her victory. So this time, if he comes for her, she’ll be ready. And she’ll fight.

Hi Mel. Are you still doing reviews? If so, you're awesome. Text Chain's my third novel, it's a romantic comedy set in college, and I hope you'd like to review it. It came out just a few days ago, so it's only got a few reviews so far, but they're all good. Text Chain Here's what one person had to say on Amazon."C.I. Demann's characters leap off the page. They are so real that, like Sarah, I want to reach through the screen and give them all a big hug. They are my new best friends. Friends who are 1,000 times wittier than I am, sure. But that's what you get from an author as funny as this one. Demann reminds me of Nick Hornby in all the best ways. His characters are so realistic it's frankly unbelievable, and I am outraged that he is so much better at writing characters than I am. If you want to feel all the feels and laugh yourself silly, read this book now."
If you're interested, let me know.
Mel wrote: "Hi, my name is Mel and I’m currently in the process of making myself available for ARC reviews on different platforms such as Net Galley, so I thought I would pop a message on here to hopefully gai..."Hi Mel, I have a memoir that I'd love a review for! It's called Red Moons and Silent Truths, blurb: Lydia, a young woman from London, arrives in Yangon in 2020, eager to start a new life filled with fresh beginnings and discovery. As she begins volunteering with a local charity, she finds herself deeply moved by the stories of the people she meets and the challenges they face. However, on the first day of February 2021, a sudden power and internet blackout signals the start of something sinister, revealing the harsh realities of a nation grappling with a history of oppression.
This book is a heartfelt testament to the voices silenced by oppression, a call to remember the struggles of those who endure. With each page, readers are invited to delve deeper into the complexities of Myanmar's history and the ongoing fight for freedom.
Let me know if you are interested, and I would love to send you a copy - including a physical copy if you'd prefer!
Hi, Mel. Thank you for your kind offer. I write reviews myself, so I appreciate the effort and time that goes into creating them.I'd love a review of the second Kincaid Saga book and follow-up to GOLD! Feargus is a prequel, so you can still enjoy this tale even if you haven't read the first in the series.
Here’s a brief blurb:
Feargus Kincaid is a down-to-earth working-class Aussie bloke. He wouldn’t hurt a fly—or would he?
When his girlfriend is attacked by three thugs, he and his best mate mete out their own form of rough justice, setting in train a series of events that will propel them into the shady world of gangsters, protection racketeers, and The Mafia. In the 1940s and 50s, life in Australia was simple. Feargus is about to see how complicated it can get.
A violent confrontation resulting in severe injuries leaves him reliant on painkillers. Despite his best intentions, Feargus finds himself drawn into a life of crime and drug addiction from which escape seems impossible. With the help of his friend and partner in crime, Paddy, he struggles to attain redemption for himself and a secure future for his sons, Malcolm and Jamie.
Sometimes, however, Fate has other ideas.
Feargus is written for lovers of gritty fiction and 20th-century drama.
And yes, it is available on KU. Here's a link:

Not Her, Not Yet

As the days pass, Wren begins to unravel the chilling truth: the peaceful village hides dark secrets, Caleb’s love is twisted control, and escape may be her only chance at survival.
But how can you run when the past is buried deep, and the people around you don’t want you to remember?
Dark, gripping, and full of unsettling twists, Not Her, Not Yet is a psychological thriller about identity, manipulation, and the fight to reclaim yourself when everything you know has been stolen.
