SOLVED. YA Fantasy Girl worships 3 faced god-Solved [s]

I don't remember the name of the girl but it was a very unique name and she was part of a race or possibly a nationality that worshiped a 3 faced god. Not a Christian metaphor he literally has three heads. Her race could not lie or steal and had some other quirks because of religion. She was some kind of warrior who gets lost somehow(I know but it's the most detail I can remember) and in the town she comes to she gets a job dancing at a tavern, she uses her religious dance which has some weird magic for entrancing people. At the same time she meets this really old master thief who thinks she is a boy and apprentices her to learn his methods specifically because of her race because she could not use his methods to steal from him. I want to say the town has demons that make being out at night dangerous but I could be mixing that part up with something else.

I read this book roughly a decade ago but I believe the friend who recommended it told me it was older. I think it was part of a series but I never read any of the others.

And she's still writing the series -very slowly- the rest of the books are really good too.

ETA: the book has had a couple editions and different names (several of Hodgell's publishers have folded so it's moved around a couple times) so you might check the series page if that title doesn't sound familiar.
