IncREADible entry:
*14. A nonfiction book: Wild
Making Euphoria a love triangle.
I started "The Cutting Edge", found it ridiculous within a few chapters, and refuse to waste my time reading any further. As some reviewers said: "DNF". Ugh! The Cutting Edge
27. My latest Grievance. My Latest Grievance Elinor LipmanNot horrible. Wouldn't give a gushing recommendation either.
It seems like you hit a mid-year rut on book selection. Two of the last three you reviewed didn't get glowing reviews from you. What made you decide to pick up The Cutting Edge and My Latest Grievance?
Hi Jackie! I check out audio books from library for my commute and am at the mercy of what has been produced in audio and what is available. I don't complain because sometimes I luck out and love the books that many times I would never have considered reading. I think/hope for the most part my streak of bad to below average books is over!!
I'm reading a 541 pager. Slow going. Hope to be posting number 30 soon but at this rate, it might be September!
Had to turn the 541 pager back to the library but I have it checked out again and am almost done. Had another seemingly long book but I just checked and it is 340 pages.30. The Lowland.Jhumpa LahiriThe Lowland
finished another book but fast forwarded through 1/3rd so not counting it. Tempting Fate by Jane Green. Not good in my opinion.
34. After HerJoyce MaynardAlmost to goal. I'm "clearing my shelves" so I will definitely get to goal.
35. The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks Rebecca SklootI did it!! Thanks to the "clear your shelves" challenge!!
My 35 ranged from 1 star to 5 stars. I had several DNFs and 1 skim (not counted). Amazing journey. Maybe at year end, I'll add a reflection on best (and forget the worst).
Congrats on meeting your goal! And still with a few months left to go! I looked through what you read - Landline is high on my list of books to read soon, and I'm glad to hear The Storied Life of AJ Fikry is good, I added that recently. :) So what are you currently reading, now that your challenge is complete?

Your book list is quite diverse; it would be great to hear what you learned about reading, book selection, and yourself.
Didn't realize the book challenge had a feature to count your pages instead of books. I'm at 15,638! Cool!

As for what I'm currently reading, I'm still trying to "clear my shelves" a bit. And other than that, I am mainly at the mercy at what is available from the library in audio (I get most of my "reading" done on my commute to work.) I am in a book club so I'll have two or three picked for me!! :) I will probably check out what the front runners are for the Tournament of Books and get one or two finished. It is going to be a great year.

Will do! I like the thought of trying to think what I've learned about myself through my likes and dislikes. I know I've learned a lot this year. It never ceases to amaze me what authors come up with!
Just created my 2016 corner. What a great year. Can't believe it has flown by so quickly. I made my goal of 35 and have been creeping close to 50 but haven't been finishing any books lately. Reading only 2-3 pages at a time. Starting to think about my 2016 goal. Might stick with 35 or go for 51.
Congratulations on meeting your goal this year! I'm glad that you're excited for 2016 - we have some fun things planned. :)
