I hadn’t heard of this actress before, but this book was something recommended to me based on other books I had read. And I am so happy it was. This book is a very honest, powerful and at times raw collection of essays about race, fame and Hollywood, gender, what it means to be a woman and beauty. Some of the essays were incredibly funny, some hit close to home, and others were completely heart-breaking. I’m so grateful I read this book and I have already recommended it to a couple of friends.
