Aiden walked to the armory and put some of his hand-made weapons onto the shelves. They had been requested by a few of the other campers. With special permission, he was allowed to make some and put it into the armory. After putting it onto the other shelves he took a step back to look at all of the weapons. He couldn't help but think as he looked at few the poorly designed weapons and some he admired for their well thought out structure.
Kelly was not one to walk away or run from people she feared, not this time. This time the Aphrodite girls had gone to far, they had started to chase her with perfume and brightly coloured clothes - mostly skirts, dresses and blouses - Kelly's version of Hell on Earth. She ran into the armory, knowing full well that the Aphrodite kids wouldn't dare enter such a dusty place. 'They wouldn't want to get they're hair messed up', which to Kelly was the most stupid excuse she had ever had the displeasure meeting.
Aiden turned his head to see a girl in panic. When she ran into the armory, he happened to be right behind it and he was knocked over and now she was his chest. As he turned his head to face her he recognized her immediately. Those eyes would always be remembered in the back of his mind. "What a surprise that we meet again." He said with a casual grin.
First thing she noticed was that she had face-planted a guys chest, the second thing she noticed was who he was. She looked up at him and scowled. "It's a pleasure." She said sarcastically then heard the giggles of the Aphrodite kids coming closer. "Where the heck is she? Does she, like, not like this dress I mean it would make her eyes and hair 'pop'!" One of the girls sighed irritated. Kelly's eyes widened and she tried to walk around Aiden but because the room was not that wide for people to be side by side she was stuck where she was.
Aiden heard the voices and his grin immediately faded. He didn't like the Aphrodite kids much. To annoying and way to bratty. "Damn." He mumbled under his heavy breath. He grabbed some armor. "Put this on and hide behind me." He said as he shoved it toward her. His instincts kicked in, his protective instincts.
She didn't wait or ask any questions. She slipped on the armor and tried her best at tying all the armor together, it fit snugly. Maybe I'll keep this, she thought to herself, then she heard the voices get nearer and out of panic she reached up and grabbed an over-sized helmet with a red horse plume and put it on her head just as a tall, curvy and beautiful girl walked in. She scanned the area briefly before her gaze landed on Aiden and a smile grew on her lips. "Hey there. Listen, have you seen a girl with black-" "Brown," one of her siblings corrected her. "A girl with brown hair and blue eyes?" She asked.
"Nope, sorry. I will let you know when I see her. Good luck on finding her." He said with a wink. He made sure Kelly was behind him and he acted like there was nothing wrong. He was perfectly natural. Through his cool collected behavior, he wanted to scream inside.
The blonde girl smiled. "Awesome, thank so much." She said then she left and started to mutter. "That guy was so hot," she said in a daaamn type voice. Kelly obviously relaxed and let out a breath she didn't know she had been holding. "Thank you," she replied shortly, this was the second time he had saved her, and she hated it.
He closed the door as they left and looked behind him. "No problem." He whispered as he took another peek outside. "I think they are gone." He said with a fading whisper. Finally he turned his entire body and his attention towards her. "Might I ask what that was all about?"
Kelly took off the over-sized helmet and placed it on a workbench and rubbed her face in her hands to muffle a groan. "I insulted the blonde girl of being a bimbo and then she called her siblings and they started to try and persuade me to try on numerous dresses, skirts, all girly things and all of them were so brightly coloured... it was disgusting!" She shuddered.
Aiden snickered but turned his face away so she wouldn't see. He looked back with a peculiar sort of grin on his face. "You called her a bimbo?" He said with an eyebrow raised. He couldn't help but be amused as she told the story and as he facial expressions.
"Yes, I did. What else would you call a dumb blonde that knows nothing but fashion and flirting?" She asked getting defensive, then she noticed the strange grin on his face. "Why do you smile like that? It makes you look like a pervert." She muttered and crossed her arms over her chest in an X shape, 'protectively'. Though her face was blank her eyes were smirking in a way. Tilting her head sideways she looked through a large crack in the shed and saw the Aphrodite kids right outside chatting about how good-looking Aiden was. She rolled her eyes and dropped her arms to her sides and turned around and studied some of the weapons.
Aiden laughed softly at her comment. "I look like a pervert? Well then, I guess I have achieved my goal." He said teasingly. He turned to look outside and saw that they were back and whispering about something. He decided it would be best if he started to talk a little lower.
Kelly rolled her eyes. "Creep." She muttered then studied the weapons more closely. "Did you make these by yourself?" She asked softly as she picked up one but nearly toppled forwards because it was so heavy. "Gods of Oblivion, this is heavy," she commented and struggled to put it back in it's place. "Wait- did you guys here that?" The Aphrodite kids asked. Kelly kept still and held her breath.
Aiden smiled and was about to open his mouth until he heard the Aphrodite kids. How was he going to get rid of them? Aiden thought fast and made a clutter. "Whoops, that fell out of place." He said loudly, making sure the Aphrodite kids heard. He figured it might divert away some attention. He looked back at Kelly. "Yes, I made most of these if you are wondering. The one you were holding was for one of the Ares kids." He whispered. Another side of Aiden was showing, his serious, more adult-like nature. "Keep quiet and try not to touch anything." He said as he peeked outside again, making sure they weren't coming.
Kelly turned to him and gave him a small smile and mouthed 'Thank You'. It was rare for the daughter of Nemesis to smile let alone say 'thank you. She nodded. "They're very well made, I'll give you that." She smirked and took down one of the double edged daggers and examined it with great care. "Hm, how long does it take it take you to make these?" She asked softly and put it back carefully, turning around to face Aiden and tilted her head to the left and smirked. "Well, well Robocop. Showing your other colours I see." She chuckled.
Aiden looked over and grinned. The Aphrodite girls seemed to not even second think what they heard. "Thanks, and it took me only a few days to make them." He said a with a shrug. As she made the comment about his other colors showing he snickered. "What colors would those be?"
"Well, when ae first met you were an annoyingly cheerful and sarcastic boy. Now you're serious and grown up." She said and crossed her arms over her chest and let out a long sigh. "Well, looks liks I am stuck here until those bimbos go away." She frowned and glared at the Aphrodite kids.
Aiden shrugged at her comment about his personality change. He kept his mouth tightly shut though. The one thing that went through his mind was that I guess I am that way when it comes to the people I care about. He peeked outside again and faced her. "Well think of something." He said with a slight curvature of his lips.
"We better, I have whip training." She murmured and sat down on the ground and gently rested her head on the wall next to her. Her eyes closed and she tilted her head back letting out a low sigh. "So... five questions each? And we'll be honest." She said and raised her eyebrow as her eyes opened.
Aiden's smile faded into just a raised eyebrow. However, it as soon as it came, it faded. He slowly walked over to her. "Like truth or dare but just truth?" He asked her. He sat down next to her and leaned his head against the wall and turned his head toward Kelly.
Kelly kept her gaze straight. "Just truth." She murmured and glanced at him from the corner of her eye. Even when sitting down, Aiden was still taller than her. It made her slightly jealous. Maybe if she was tall as him, people would be more intimidated by her.
Aiden nodded and crossed his arms. "Okay, what do you want to know?" He asked her. His eyes glanced over her. Aiden couldn't help but notice even though she was looking away the way her eyes glowed. They were unlike the rest of the girls he knew.
"Hm, why are you so different around the Aphrodite kids?" She asked bluntly and turned her head to look at him in the eye. Where his eyes always that shade of blue? She wondered then shook it off, denying her crush towards him that was increasingly growing every time she met him. It was mainly the reason why she hated him. He was just so, lovable.
"I'm protective, especially over the people I care about." He said bluntly. "My brothers and sisters I am especially protective over." He said as he looked down. Last time he had almost got himself killed trying to rescue someone, actually, that was the reason he lost his hand.
"Hm, understandable. You go." She replied in a whisper as the Aphrodite kids obnoxious laughter got louder. "If they only did something wrong I could curse their hair to look slimy for a week." She muttered under her breath sadly. She shifted to get comfortable, but ended up brushing her arms against his. "Sorry." She said and inched away.
Aiden shook his head and looked up at her. "Don't worry about it." He said. He heard the Aphrodite kids and rolled his eyes and looked up, trying his best not to think of doing something stupid and trouble-like. He looked at her. "What was your past like if that is an appropriate question to ask." He asked her curiously.
Kelly sucked in a sharp breath. "It was... bad. Very bad." She replied and didn't dare look at him. He just had to ask that question... All the memories of her brother came back and she felt tears prick behind her eyes. "My turn. Why do you talk to me when you know my mother is Nemesis?" She asked in a mournful voice.
Aiden saw the pain in her eyes and almost wanted to hug her, to comfort her. However he held it back. By her reaction, it had confirmed what he had heard. When she asked the question, he quickly changed the subject. "I don't think it matters," he said. "It only matters on who you are, not who your parents are."
Kelly snickered. "Aiden, I am far from different from my mother." She said all the pain and sadness gone, replaced with mischief. She turned to look at him with a smirk. "If people cross me, they will pay for it. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth... a son for a son and so on." She said and waved her hand dismissively as if she didn't really care about the whole subject.
Aiden laughed under his breath. "Yeah, but I am not the type to cross someone." It was the truth. The only person you could say he crossed was himself. However, he did cross someone at his old school by betraying him. However, the reason he did it was to save another kid. "My question for you, why did you get so mad when I rescued you?" He asked her with his icy blue eyes staring at her.
Kelly shook her head and chuckled bitterly. "Everyone crosses everyone in their life-time." She said and closed her eyes. At his question, she let out a sigh and a sound of annoyance. "I don't like those cliche book where the girl gets her butt kicked and having a guy save her. It's annoying, I can handle myself and I hate looking week." She muttered truthfully. "Do you... Brr, I don't know, like one of the campers?" She asked from the top of her head and inwardly smirked.
Aiden laughed a little at her answer. As she asked about if he liked any of the campers, his eyes seemed to glow with mischief. "Actually I do, and she is actually closer then you think. Probably the last girl you'd expect." He said with a chuckle. He looked away and peeked at her through the corner of his eye before turning away to face the blank wall. "Same question for you." He said.
"Well that's helpful!" She snapped and glared at the back of his head then her face fell slightly and she turned to the hole where the Aphrodite kids were. "Well, the last person I would suspect would be one of them." She said trying t hide her disgust. "Boy, you have a poor taste in women." She muttered under her breath then looked at the ceiling as she pondered on how to answer him. "I don't like anyone, you can't love someone without getting hurt. And I've been hurt to many times to repeat my mistakes." She murmured, her voice barely above a whisper, she had a habit of going quiet when she was upset and/or lying. "Hey- How can you love someone without getting hurt?" She asked as she turned her head to stare a him with a blank expression on her pale face.
"Even less." He mumbled under his breath. Aiden could almost feel her pain as she told that she couldn't love. Although she said she couldn't something told him that deep down, she did. " I can't say you won't. It all depends who you're willing to take that chance with." He shrugged as he turned his head to look at her. "I know how the feeling is to loose someone. It takes time to heal but eventually you heart gets sewed up." He said softly.
Kelly stared at him then the corners of her mouth raised. "You're a poet, and you didn't even know it." She chuckled and nodded. "I suppose so. But as many people tend to point out, I have n heart or many emotions." She said with the roll of her eyes. She turned to look at the hole and saw the Aphrodite kids were still there. "The Hell?" She muttered in annoyance and groaned then fell sideways and rested her head on Aiden's shoulder. "You're warm, that's the only reason I am using you as a leaning post."
Aiden laughed. "A poet, robocop, and hero in training. I like it." He said sarcastically. He looked down as she leaned against him. He was a little surprised that she did that and her explanation didn't help reduce his shock. Aiden couldn't help but grow more attracted to her. "I don't mind." He said with a smirk. He looked outside and snarled. "Why won't they leave? Do they know you're in here or something?"
"Could I add that you're an ass?" She asked innocently but a smirk tugged on her lips. "Good, even if you did, I still wouldn't move." She replied casually and stuck her tongue out at him as she tilted her head so she could see him better then returned back to the position she had been in. "I don't know! Maybe they just want to stalk you, being the creepy flirts they are." She spat.
Aiden rolled his eyes. "Whatever." He said trying to hide his smirk. He nodded. "That's why I hate the Aphrodite kids. They always think they can get what they want. They act like those dumb fangirls. I wish they could knock some sense into them." He said as he peeked outside. He shook his head. "Maybe they are smarter then I thought, they might suspicious why I have been in here so long." He shrugged, moving her head a little.
"Hm, maybe you don't have a poor taste, in women at least." She yawned and closed her eyes furrowing her eyebrows when he shrugged. "Don't move!" She demanded and pressed herself closer to him, trying to get warm in the room where the temperature was dropping. The Aphrodite kids went quiet again, then began to shuffle off to the door, which was the entrance of the armory.
The sky was starting to turn darker as the temperature dropped. As he heard the shuffling of feet he cursed under his breath. He looked up and saw a loft that was well hidden. He smirked casually. "Sorry, but you have to move if you don't want the Aphrodite kids to get you." He whispered. He picked her up and shoved her into the hidden loft. Fortunately, she wasn't to heavy and he was tall enough to reach the top. The door started to creak open and he jumped up quickly.
"What the-" She muttered as unlady like profanities came tumbling out of her mouth but she quickly shut up as she heard the door creak open. "Hey, why don't you come with us to the dining hall? You look starved and.... lonely." One of the Aphrodite kids said with a small pout to her lip. She rested her hands on her hips and watched him with interest.
Aiden was caught and he closed his eyes before turning to face them. He climbed down. "Oh me? Um, I'm fine. I was just organizing a little." He said rubbing the back of his neck. He tried to keep calm. No matter how much he worried about Kelly, he was careful not to look up and blow her cover.
Kelly kept perfectly still and stared at the Aphrodite kids from the corner of her eyes. "Oh, what a shame. If you do see that ungrateful minx send her outside and we'll give her a makeover! I mean she has soo much potential!" One of the boys giggled and the rest of them nodded in agreement. "You did see her however, didn't you? You know who we're talking about." One of the girls asked. Kelly was about to explode! Ungrateful minx!? How dare they...
Aiden squinted and snapped his fingers. "Oh yeah! You mean the girl that just ran outside to the forest? I literally just saw her through the doorway. And I could say-" He paused. "-she needs a makeover badly." His body language was perfectly natural and the lies came off of his tongue like it was the honest truth. He shrugged. "She has blue eyes, brown hair, and is wearing a leather jacket right?"
The Aphrodite kids mouths opened in perfect synchronization. "The Forest? Hehe, these Prada boots don't do well in mucky forests. I'm out!" The 'ring leader' of the small group said and ran off. The other just nodded. "Yeah, well um. Catch you later, maybe." They chuckled nervously and then to followed the other girl. "The forest? I knew she was creepy but..." The rest of the conversation was unheard as the kids got farther and farther away. "So, I need a makeover badly do I?" Kelly spoke, arms crossed over her chest as she gazed at Aiden with a raised eyebrow and a hard stare.
"Nope." He said as he looked up. "I just thought they would buy it if I pretended I was on their side." He walked over to her and picked her up by her waist and set her down. "Well we better get you back to your cabin before they get suspicious." He said as he looked outside to make sure they were gone in the forest.
As Kelly was set down she looked up and her breath nearly caught in her throat, their faces were inches apart. "A gentleman I see, walking a girl back to her cabin." She murmured then glanced at his lips then back at his eyes before pulling away clearing her throat. "Um, thanks." She mumbled and took off the armor she still had on and rested it on one of the shelves.
