Welcome Patrick. It's great to have someone who knows real action, we mostly get our knowledge from TV. There's good folks on here, and professional moderation to keep out the bozos. I expect one of the mods will brief you on where to go for various kinds of advice and foolishness.

Hi Patrick, welcome to our group! Richard is right, we have loads of advice and even more foolishness to offer our fellow indies. Please feel free to tell us about your project in the what do you write and why thread. We have threads for blurb and cover feedback, and we have in its infancy the Bettereads project aimed at peer reviewing each other's books. Soon we will have another group where these books can be made available to readers for review. If you're looking for a place to unwind with some silliness, check out the just lurking thread.

Egads! Can't believe I just now saw this. Welcome Patrick! I have chosen self publishing as well, and feel very comfortable with that decision. I just finalized the publishing of my newest work today in fact. This group is really Indie friendly. Glad to know you, and again...welcome. :)
