Update to Message #9: 12/20Read Mexican Gothic which was a great slow-burn gothic horror novel. Used it for one of my Little Mermaid prompts where the girl saves someone she loves.

Set in 14th century Rus' this book has an abundance of Russian folklore and even a small glossary in the back.
Update message #9: 14/20Went with Jesus and John Wayne: How White Evangelicals Corrupted a Faith and Fractured a Nation because John Wayne was one "giant" of a man that evangelicals have felt the need to live up to.
Went with A Rogue of One's Own for my "mute/voice" prompt because the protagonist is fighting to give married women a voice.
