My Side of the Mountain is a very inspiring book, it shows you youth independence and many other good values. The book is set in the Catskill mountains and it is about the protagonist and his falcon fighting for independence and braving the wilds. It is about his many adventures and how he deals with the problems of living in the mountains. On a scale of one to ten this book is an eight. It is great that the characters all have development there is not that much violence. It gives you real facts about nature and wildlife alike. This book it is cool because it influences you to read because he shows you how he larned a lot of his skills from books at the occasional stop at the library.
