The Assassin's Blade
question
Should I read this after I read throne of glass and crown of midnight?

I'm not sure exactly or do I read the Assassin's Blade first? Because I was going to start the throne of glass series soon

Read assassin's blade first. Sarah J Maas herself has said that she thinks of the book as book 0 and throne of glass as book 1.
That's what I did...and while some of what happened in the short stories was spoiled because I had already read book 1 and 2, I still felt all of the feels when I read it
I would have liked to read The Assasin´s blade before Throne of Glass. I think it´s better
i read throne of glass first, then read the assasins blade.... doing that kind of spoiled the ending but it was totally worth reading.

I suggest reading it after Heir of Fire and then completing the rest of the books.
For Reference:
Throne of Glass
Crown of Midnight
Heir of Fire
The Assassin’s Blade
Queen of Shadows
Tower of Dawn
Empire of Storms
Kingdom of Ash

Should I read the assassins blade series before throne of glass or after
When u meet Sam and fall in love with his character, its the best thing. The references Sarah makes will make sense if you read the Assassins Blade first. It also doesn't spoil the rest of the series like some prequels do.
I would read it after Heir of Fire. It just kind of fit in right there for me because it didn’t really spoil anything for the beginning of the series, (Celeana wanting revenge of the King of Thieves from Crown of Midnight) and it helped to explain the books that come after Heir of Fire better because there were more references to The Assassin’s Blade.
Somebody help me... assassins blade kinda went over my head a little so now I basically started the final book and only just now realised that i should have probably read the assassins blade at some point... would you recommend me finishing the series and then reading it or stopping after tower of dawn and read assassins blade and then continue with the final book? Or should I not read it anymore? I’m just trying to get the best reading experience regardless of my little mistake😅 so if you have any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated !

100% read it. Honestly it's probably one of my favourites of Sarah J. Maas' universe. I think that it's important to understanding Celaena and also important to understanding things that happen in the future of the books

First time reading the series I read it before Queen of Shadows. Second time reading the series before the final book comes out I read it before Throne of Glass. You can read it before TOG but definitely before QOS. There are characters that you have to meet, events you need to know and other things you need to know about before you get to that book.
Yes read the novellas first.. You get to meet Sam Cortland.

I agree, I wish we could have seen more of Sam and Celaena's adventures and experiences growing up in the Assassin's keep.

I think you should read the Assassin's Blade first before reading Throne of Glass. There are a lot of spoilers in the first two books of ToG to the point that I lost interest in reading Assassin's Blade.
I would highly recommend reading the Assassin's Blade before reading the other books; it gives you more background information on the main character, Celaena Sardrothien, and the world in general. In addition, the novellas are really fun to read!
You can't go wrong with reading the books in order of publication so Throne of Glass, Crown of Midnight then the Assassins Blade but whatever you want to do will be fine it doesn't really matter (aslong as you read book 1 before book 2 haha)
So I read Throne of Glass first do I now read The Assassin's Blade or do I read Crown of Midnight?
