Olivia Murphy This book had so many different people in it, and they all had very different personalities. Twelve year old Willow Chance is very smart, and is very interested in things like medical conditions, plants, and the number seven. She was adopted by two amazing parents, and lives in Bakersfield, California. She goes to counseling with a man named Dell, and meets two new people named Mai and Quang-ha Nguyen. Her life seems to be going pretty well. But then, her life gets turned upside down. Both of her parents die in a car crash, and she ends up living with the Nguyen's and their mother, Pattie. They end up taking over Dell's apartment, and Willow also meets a man named Jairo, who drives her around in his taxi. But, everything is temporary. Willow is going to find a new home with new guardians eventually. But, she learns to love the people she is living with, and makes a life with them. She wants to live with them, and make them happy. What I liked about this book is that it used very interesting words, and described every character in detail. I just didn't like how the perspective of the story would randomly change from one character to the next, with no warning. It could get confusing sometimes. Overall, I would rate this book a 4 out of 5.
