Michaela (yuvilee) | 158 comments I guess that would only make it worse :D
As english isn't my first language it's a lot easier to read than to listen to it :D

message 52: by Jason (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1426 comments It helps if you read it naked whilst at lunch.

message 53: by Tinka (new)

Tinka | 495 comments I will add The Clockwork Scarab (Stoker & Holmes, #1) by Colleen Gleason to my list for 'female author'

message 54: by Jason (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1426 comments Hunger games completed, that's a third of a book crossed off the list. haha

message 55: by Jason (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1426 comments Was a lot better than I expected, really quite clever at times how it was written, especially the build up to the start of the games.

message 56: by Tinka (new)

Tinka | 495 comments Well Red Rising (Red Rising Trilogy, #1) by Pierce Brown was a catastrophe but I list I have the color in the title

message 57: by Jason (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1426 comments Haha when you starting book 2? What was so bad about it then?

message 58: by Ness (new)

Ness I think it's funny how everyone either hates it or loves it. I personally thought it was pretty cool.

message 59: by Jason (last edited Feb 15, 2015 01:28PM) (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1426 comments Finished book With non-humans The Bumper Book of Simon's Cat very funny stuff.

message 60: by Tinka (new)

Tinka | 495 comments I couldn't connect with any of the characters, the writing was pretenious as hell and the story was like a mash up of everything popular in the last couple of years. There was nothing original about it.

Oh, I won't read the second one. I won't waste my time or money on it.

message 61: by Tinka (new)

Tinka | 495 comments And I'm done with a non-fiction book. Just finished The Presentation of Self in Everyday Life by Erving Goffman for a class at university and at least I can use it here.

message 62: by Michaela (new)

Michaela (yuvilee) | 158 comments Are you studying sociology? :D
Friends of mine are reading Goffman :D

message 63: by Tinka (new)

Tinka | 495 comments No, I study German and English but a part of my German studies is Communication Theories and Social Interaction ^^

message 64: by Jason (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1426 comments I finished The Warden for my book over 100 years old.

message 65: by Jason (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1426 comments Well done. I've been working on my over 500 page book, Don Quixote, just under 1000 pages.

message 66: by Tinka (new)

Tinka | 495 comments I'm slowly doing 'The Mists of Avalon' for owned but never read. I have this book for ages now haha

message 67: by Jason (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1426 comments Finished second hunger games book today, one more and I can tick off the trilogy. woohoo

message 68: by Tinka (new)

Tinka | 495 comments And did you enjoy it?

message 69: by Jason (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1426 comments Yes it isn't too bad it is quite addictive, you want to read more, a bit like the lunar chronicles. The only problem is I don't really like many of the characters. Finnick wasn't too bad but I probably liked him as he is as handsome and courageous as me. ;)

message 70: by Tinka (new)

Tinka | 495 comments I think the reason for disliking some characters is because most of them are not written to be likeable. Katniss for example is quite frustrating and not easy to read due to her PTSD. My favorite two characters are Finnick and Peeta ;)

message 71: by Jason (last edited Mar 01, 2015 02:02AM) (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1426 comments I did like Cinna but I not sure of his current status?

message 72: by Tinka (new)

Tinka | 495 comments They explain what happened to him in book 3

message 73: by Ness (new)

Ness I finished All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven and I'm gonna use it for the A book based on its cover. That cover did deceive me, it was not what I expected it to be

message 74: by Jason (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1426 comments 13th book completed, In Bed with Jane Austen I've put this down as recommended by a friends seeing as Ashleigh told me to read it.

message 75: by Jason (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1426 comments 14th book finished too. Damned got this one because of the cover, one of the first books I added to my tbr list. The picture of the devil is awesome, reminds me of an old tattoo.

You guys might like this book, I would recommend it.

message 76: by Jason (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1426 comments Yeah in bed with Jane Austen was good fun. I have the third book ready to read soon.

message 77: by Jason (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1426 comments 15th book, non-fiction book completed. 98-367: MTA Security Fundamentals it was a riveting read. haha

message 78: by Tinka (new)

Tinka | 495 comments I'll just added Look Who's Back by Timur Vermes for the 'Funny Book' and The DUFF Designated Ugly Fat Friend by Kody Keplinger for 'Set in High School'

message 79: by Ness (new)

Ness Tinka wrote: "I'll just added Look Who's Back by Timur Vermes for the 'Funny Book' and The DUFF Designated Ugly Fat Friend by Kody Keplinger for 'Set in High School'"

What did you think about Look Who's Back?

message 80: by Tinka (new)

Tinka | 495 comments I really enjoyed it. It was funny, but very thought provoking and the research was incredible

message 81: by Tinka (new)

Tinka | 495 comments Just finished The 100 (The Hundred, #1) by Kass Morgan and originally I was going to use it for the TV show base on a book, but now I rather use it for a number in the title because those books are harder to get than a TV adaptation these days

message 82: by Ness (new)

Ness Finished Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen so I'm going to use it for the classic romance

message 83: by Ness (new)

Ness Me Before You by Jojo Moyes is going to be my book by a new to you author

message 84: by Jason (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1426 comments 17th item crossed off the list. I have finished the hunger games trilogy, pretty big task finished.

message 85: by Tinka (new)

Tinka | 495 comments And what's your opinion on the trilogy overall?

message 86: by Jason (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1426 comments I enjoyed it, I am glad it was only the 3 books, so many authors like to keep throwing them out until it becomes really bad.

message 87: by Tinka (new)

Tinka | 495 comments Yeah that's true, I'm glad it wasn't dragged out. Even though I believe the final book could've been a little longer.
Have you watched the movies yet?

message 88: by Jason (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1426 comments I saw the first one when it came out.... will be watching them now I have done the books.

message 89: by Tinka (new)

Tinka | 495 comments So, I finished Equal Rites (Discworld, #3) by Terry Pratchett and it is a book that contains magic, so I can tick that off the list

message 90: by Jason (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1426 comments Watched the first hunger games movie, pretty poor compared to the book.

message 91: by Tinka (new)

Tinka | 495 comments The first one wasn't that good, but Catching Fire and Mockingjay Part 1 are a whole different level.

message 92: by Jason (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1426 comments Yeah, a friend of mine said that too. Hoping it will be good, also interested to see who plays Finicky and BeeTee as I liked them.

message 93: by Tinka (new)

Tinka | 495 comments So, I finished Living Dead in Dallas (Sookie Stackhouse, #2) by Charlaine Harris which is a book with non-human characters

message 94: by Jason (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1426 comments What did you think? Getting into the books yet?

message 95: by Tinka (new)

Tinka | 495 comments Oh, that will be my last one of the series. I like Eric and Pam but the rest is just too dumb to get through. Idiotic main character and a cringeworthy romance

message 96: by Jason (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1426 comments Haha what about the TV series? Have you tried that?

message 97: by Tinka (new)

Tinka | 495 comments I made it into episode 3 and couldn't get into it. Does it get better and is worth trying again?

message 98: by Jason (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1426 comments Nah, I enjoyed the books and the series, which was silly at times, sounds like it isn't your sort of thing.

message 99: by Tinka (new)

Tinka | 495 comments Probably not.

Does it count as a trilogy when the series was originally published as one and a prequel was only released years later? I mean a prequel doesn't reall count right?

message 100: by Jason (last edited Mar 31, 2015 08:50AM) (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1426 comments If I included a prequel it would bug me that I didn't do it properly, it probably counts though. Doing the first three books from a series would be the same, I'm probably a bit OCD though. hehe
