It used to be that way. I think you broke it last time :P

Yeah I am talking about same dagger.:)

I have finally caught up with GRRM on this! Though it did take me about 3 years to read the five books. One piece of advice for starters, never EVER deeply discuss this series with someone who is ahead of you, especially with someone who's reading the sequels. They definitely know something you don't.
Spoilers are the worst things that could happen to you while reading this series.
Other than that, enjoy the read!! :)

Oh that is so true actually!
This series is more like 1 book split into 8 parts rather than being an 8 book series. So people who have read the whole thing may have a hard time remembering what happened in which book; so really have to be careful there :P

I guess so :) It is unclear what he things about the vale so can't say for sure.
1. Did you like the dragons?
2. What did you think about the others?

Both questions are impossible to answer by only reading A Game of Thrones as we are just introduced with the Dragons and the Others in this volume. But as the story moves along we learn much more. You just have to wait and read :P

Thanks a lot. Somehow I missed this fact in the first 2 books.

It's not in any book. It's more like trivia spread out in little pieces throughout the series. No specific appearance.
Anirudh wrote: "@Gordon, I know :) But first impressions count :) As for others we still don't know anything."Exactly :P
Book 6 will surely change that tough. I just hope I don't die before The Winds of Winter releases :P

I am more worried about GRRM :D

This is all explained in detail in the companion book to the series The World of Ice & Fire: The Untold History of Westeros and the Game of Thrones.
PSmith wrote: "Okay, but when should the companion be read, along with the series, beforehand or afterwards?"Afterwards
PSmith wrote: "Okay, but when should the companion be read, along with the series, beforehand or afterwards?"Technically speaking it is mostly unrelated to the storyline of ASoIaF so it wouldn't spoil anything for you whenever you read it.
But of course reading it after the main series is most logical.
I thought the same about eggs. About fascination with fire, is it a prophecy that fire can't hurt a true Dragon?
About the houses, this book was mostly about two houses, their members and their story. What about others?

Yes, appearances were deceptive, in his case.

Once I was told by someone that if you put spoiler tags properly, it wont come in replies. Am imparting the same advice here :P
