Carmen Amato (authorcarmenamato) | 32 comments I gave a lecture a few weeks ago on a formula for creating a commercially viable mystery series. After the lecture several folks asked if I gave a course to explore the formula in more depth. It feels like a fun idea but I really don't know if there is interest in such an online course--delivered via 5-7 emails--and would love to hear what folks think. Any interest in signing up for a free course on how to write a mystery series?

J.W. Metcalf (jwmetcalf) I would be interested in joining. I currently write P.I. mysteries, but I am always interested in learning as much as I can.

Hi Carmen. Might prove to be a poor student if there's homework deadlines involved, but I am interested too.

Count me in! I am in grad school and I only have one class right now which is Master's Thesis so I am writing a thesis and was actually thinking it would be interesting to set a mystery in the time and place I am doing my thesis on- World War II Germany.

Great timing, Carmen. Plotting away as I write. Maybe by March I'll even have an outline of an outline!

Eric Plume (ericplume) | 6 comments Count me in as well. I've got two private-eye novels under my belt already but I'm always looking to learn from other authors.
