My reading resolution is a little like Kiera's - I need to read the books I own, especially the ones I've owned for years! And as well as the "real" books, my kindle total needs to be reduced dramatically!
So not so much library, not so much adding to the TBR and more changing the unread home bookshelves to the read ones;)

My resolution is to finish some of the many series I have left half done. I have a tendency to put the next book onto my TBR list and never get back to it. Or by the time I do I have forgotten the story completely!

Haha! Yes that would be a good idea...just delete, delete, delete - but are we strong enough to do that;)

1. To have fun with my reading and to continue allowing myself to stop reading if I am not enjoying it - I don't HAVE to finish a book if I am not liking it. I started doing this a couple of years back and it took no end of stress of myself - mind you I don't review them and they get quietly deleted off my Goodread shelves.
2. To remember that challenges are a guideline not a goal - and if I don't finish a challenge then that's ok as long as I have done the best that I can - this links back to resolution 1 - have fun with my reading - challenges are certainly fun :)

Maybe we should all make a resolution to stop worrying about how long our TBR lists are. We are never going to get to the end of them anyway:)

Now ain't that the truth;P

I'm very much the same - or new releases!

Totally agree with you on all points there Sally.

I want to reduce my stash of unread paperbacks and ebooks and reduce the number of new books I acquire.
I can add as many books as I like to my tbr list as long as I don't buy them straight away and review the list every now and then to trim it down.
And as Sally says, I plan to just enjoy what I read and not feel I have to finish a book I don't like or complete a challenge. It's going to be another fun year :)

Hopefully I can make it! (nearly finished the Bon Scott bio, enjoying it a lot too, off to a good start at least!)

We're worse than kids in a lolly shop, aren't we Marianne?

yup!

Isn't that the truth ;)

Haha it's a compliment Brenda. Hopefully my book a week challenge will make me read faster!
Well thank you then;) I wish you all the best with it.. (I couldn't read this fast when I was younger - had kids, a job...)

* read at least 40 full-length novels
* read 12 Aussie books across different genres
* read and review at least 15 books by Aussie women (for the Australian Women Writers challenge)
I'm not making resolutions about not buying new books because I know I won't keep them! :p

I agree with Sally and Phrynne. There are more good books than there are hours in which to read them, so it's a shame to spend that time reading books you don't enjoy, or to worry about how many books you still have to read.
My resolution for 2015 is to set aside more time for reading. Not just snatching pages where I can, but quarantining regular afternoons or evenings to get through some of the books I've been wanting to read.

Cassandra, it's great to hear that you're taking part in the AWW Challenge. I know quite a few bloggers who participate, and it's always interesting to follow their progress.

Last year was appalling, only 16 books, the year before I got to 46 so I know it is possible.

Possibly read them quick as well? This is a huge maybe to me though.
