Danni N (odannigirl) I just finished The Guild. I really liked it. Already have the second volume on it's way from the library.

I loved it! It was nice to read the backstory of how the Guild was formed. The show makes so much more sense now. I bought the second volume the same time I bought the first, but haven't read it yet because I was so focused on finishing Ready Player One and In Real Life.

Melissa (eris_discord42) | 35 comments Finished Scott Pilgrim Vol. 1. Not bad but I kind of wanted more. I haven't really gotten into comics or graphic novels. Geek Fail

Maria | 25 comments I just finished For the Win and wow it was good. It shares a lot of common themes with In Real Life such as worker's rights and the exploitation of gold farmers, but goes into much more detail.

Economics is something I know nothing about so it was mind-blowing learning about how money really works and in particular how large MMOs have economies that are larger than those of most countries and the consequences of that. Very eye-opening!

PS glad everyone's having fun with Ready Player One and The Guild, there have been some great options this month :)

Clémence | 117 comments @Melissa : I didn't particularly enjoyed Scott Pilgrim either. I don't think the fact that it's a comic is the problem with it. ^^

message 56: by Claire (new)

Claire | 45 comments I read Scott Pilgrim for the challenge too. It isn't the most enjoyable thing I've ever read, I felt like I missed the point.

The one positive thing was it made me like the film more. Mostly because it was in colour. And tone of voice.

Sarah (AdventGeekGirl) (adventgeekgirl) | 56 comments I really enjoyed The Guild graphic novels.

Nerdish Mum (nerdishmum) | 134 comments I just finished Scott Pilgrim vol 1. Does that count?

message 59: by Fay (new)

Fay Roberts @Nerdish I'm sure it does, a few people seem to have gone for that :-)

message 60: by Fay (new)

Fay Roberts Just FYI everyone but you can now get audio books through iTunes podcasts - I don't know how good they are, I haven't had a proper explore yet, but I noticed some of you mentioned listening to Ready Player One and didn't know if you wanted to check it out.

Clémence | 117 comments I'm going to adress the elephant in the room, considering the latest ratings of Scott Pilgrim's Precious Little Life among Iggles.

Who else thought it was rather sexist ?

To be clear : I didn't have this feeling watching the movie (wich I rather enjoyed).

Scott Pilgrim does count, Nerdish! And Clemence, I haven't read it in awhile...but I'll have to look through a copy. A bit of it did seem sexist to me.

Nerdish Mum (nerdishmum) | 134 comments Awesome, glad it counts for something :)

As to the book itself I want the 40 minutes it took me to read it back and I now need to bleach the bookmark I used :|

Natalie (threadsandbobbins) | 6 comments I finished Ready Player One earlier in the week! It was awesome; I could not put it down!

Sarah (AdventGeekGirl) (adventgeekgirl) | 56 comments I love Ready Player One so very much. It was my favorite book of my summer reading. Diamond in the rough of all the books I was consuming. I still want my husband to read it.

Samantha (samanyaaron) | 146 comments Thanks for the Code Michelle.
I hadn't read 'Ready Player One' when it was used for the book of the month last year so I read it for this challenge, can I now use the book for my IGGPPC book of the Month achievement codes?
