Challenges: Year Long Main 2021

2015 - I've Killed a Level, Badge me!
I started by trying to maximize my books and series to avoid 'wasting' points. However, this round I haven't felt like reading any books that will finish a series, but am reading a lot of series books. So, I'm expecting to go quite a bit over 100 points. At least I'm enjoying my reading :-)
The having fun reading is the goal, Lara. I put too much pressure on myself in past challenges and it became a chore that I had to face instead of a way to streach my reading enjoyment. My challenge is to have fun all year and read lots of good books. It is working out so far.
I agree, Cherie. So far I've gotten into some series that I had been thinking of but not pursuing. So, this is fun.
WOW, Almeta! Congrats! You are a full time slayer!
I now have so many series going that I will never complete them all, but I am not worried. I am following Cherie's lead and having fun. : )
Well, I finished level five with 145 points! I completely ignored any strategy and kept reading books within series, but none that were final or latest until today. https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...Now, I'll just have to see how far I can get in additional series the rest of this year.
Thanks Janice and Cherie. The rest of the year should be fun. I'll worry less about strategy than I did for the first four levels, but also try to finish off some trilogies that have been lurking out there. Plus, I've started some longer series and getting through them should be fun as well.

By-the-way, your avatar photo is great.
I've killed the Charley Davidson series and read 4 additional books to reach 100 points. Ready for my 5th and final badge!I'm going to continue reading series this year, though. I'm on a roll!
Wow, you guys are obsessed,er, I mean very dedicated to this challenge. I don't care to read series so intensively. Prefer to savor them more. But go killers go!
I'm going to predict I see that beautiful butterfly batch on my wall about, December!☺️congrats to all you super killers!

But go killers go!"I actually prefer to read books that are standalone or that follow different people in a series format (if I like the author). I was surprised at how many series I've started. And am sad that so many of the books I find interesting are the start of a series.
Cherie wrote: "Great news, Debra! Congratulations on your Level 5 kill!"Ha! If people didn't know about the challenge, they'd wonder what we were up to. I can imagine them wondering what a level 5 kill entails.

I have had the same thoughts, Janice. I stopped saying Welcome to the Serial Killer Club and have been trying to call it the Series Killer Club, but I forget. The former is more fun, but the latter is more politically correct. I do not want us to get in trouble with the GR Police.
Wow, I'm yet to complete level 1 and some of you guys have done 5! Congrats to you all, guess I better pull my finger out.
*...and another one's gone, and another one's gone, another one bites the dust..."Level 6 goes down with a one-two punch - I've finished two series this time around:
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
I finished Level 1. Read Abattoir Blues, the latest in Peter Robinson's Inspector Banks series5 points for the book
100 points for a series of 22 books
Hope this is right
Don't know if I should continue to report here after having finished the 5th level. I finished the Lincoln Rhyme series to date with The Skin Collector giving me 105 more points. Have always enjoyed this series.
Susan, your badge is on your wall.Debra, we love to see everyone's accomplishments, so do continue to post your level completions. I loved the movie The Bone Collector. Maybe someday I'll read the book.
Good afternoon, Just finished reading As Chimney Sweepers Come to Dust, which is the latest in the Flavia de Luce series. With that book, I completed the 3rd level :o)
Mariec's Killing Spree
Congrats all you killers! One of my problems is with some of these very long series, I have no idea what books I have and have not read
finished books for badge 2 Finished the 9 book Merry Gentry series by Laurell K. Hamilton by reading
for 90 points + 5 for the book finished book 14 in the Pendergast series
for 5 points
total 100 points
Marie Claude & Naomi, your badges are on your walls.Berit, you may need to forego those long ones in favour of shorter ones that you can keep track of.

I accidentally put in the book Bone Collector instead of the most recent one Skin Collector. I love the series, Janice. The forensic science is fascinating to me. I saw the Bone Collector movie, too. It was very good!
Debra wrote: "I accidentally put in the book Bone Collector instead of the most recent one Skin Collector. I love the series, Janice. The forensic science is fascinating to me. I saw the Bone Collector movie, too. It was very good! ..."Added to my wishlist! Thanks, Debra.

I'm hoping my strategy makes some..."
Well, I figure you have to read a lot of books in the beginning or read a lot in the end to get to those last ones needed to "OFF" series, especially if you only kill one on each level. Especially if you want to do it with minimum points. No sense waisting them. Yes?
