I think the main kid had telekenesis or pyromancy (I can't remember which one it was), one had super speed, and one was super shy because when he looked into people's eyes he could read their minds. They would go do one world ending mission per book, working their way towards the big bad in the final book. One of the books in the series took place in a prison?
