I got this book at a comic con a few years ago, and have been meaning to read it.

I had considered this one in a different book challenge for book to movie---I didn't read it yet though or see the movie. I am still keeping this option open and seeing that others are reading it is more inspiring. I still have time to decide though as I need to get through January reads first. Enjoy!
I am reading it this week. So far it follows the movie closely and it has a few quirky lines mixed in with the very poetic flow of the book that are hilarious like this one:"You are welcome here, sir sorcerer," he told Schmendrick. "Come to the fire and tell us your tale. How do they speak of me in your country? What have you heard of dashing Captain Cully and his band of freemen? Have a taco."
I laughed out loud at the taco bit. Things like that are thrown in every once in a while that just make no sense. I love nonsense. :)
I'm just starting it tonight for this week's challenge (a bit late, but it's a short book).I don't often read this kind of story (a bit fairy tale-like), but I really like it, so I'm looking forward to discover the story (I never watched the movie either).
Finally finished this book. It took me forever and for some reason I just couldn't seem to get into it. I liked it, but wasn't crazy about it. I guess the whole book seemed a little impersonal to me until the very end, and even then the feeling lingered. I just felt like I never really got to know or got attached to any of the characters. The story line was okay, but I still don't get what the red bull was a metaphor for. Overall not my favorite book i've read.
I couldn't really find the words to describe what I think about this book, but your review translates it perfectly! It took me two weeks to read 110 pages, it's symptomatic, I think I never read this slowly in my life. I'll come back when I finish it, hopefully today.
