Wow, how time flies! Nominations for our June 2020 group read will be open through 5/20, then we will take the nominations to the polls. Eligible books should be written in the New England states prior to 1920. Please use the "add book/author" link when making your nominations. I'm looking forward to seeing what we all have in mind this time! :)

Oh wow I just noticed this was up. Well I'm going for something different this time. North of Boston by Robert Frost. Think that might shock you Meg but I'm really curious about this one.

I haven't read anything by Robert Frost yet, but this does sound good! :)

Ahh yes, if it's Mr. Hawthorne it's bound to be good!! :)
I’m going to refrain for now, as I’m not sure if I will be able to read along next month. Those both sound good though!

Oh Ruth it is a good one! I would love to reread it.

I am going to nominate Twice-Told Tales by Nathaniel Hawthorne. I read this about a year ago but have been wanting to read it again now that I am better acquainted with Mr. Hawthorne. :)
Does anyone else have a nomination to make? I am leaving this open through tomorrow instead of ending it tonight. I apologize if not everyone noticed it was up...next time I will send out an announcement! :)

I came across this title as well, I didn't realize how
extensive Hawthorne's literary works were;
apart from his top most successes.

Hi Doreen,
I was so pleased when I saw your enthusiastic five star review
for this book, I would very much like to read it.

And I wasn't familiar with Grandfather's Chair until you nominated it! Yes, Hawthorne published three collections of short stories (Twice-told Tales is the first) and there are also three other novels besides the two he is best known for. :)
These sound like wonderful choices! I hope that any selections that don't make the final cut will be renominated in subsequent months!
