My resolution this year is to finish off the completed series I have started, there are not many but one of them is Malazan...
The second is not to just read to finish books for the DC vs. Marvel Challenge so I can finish it but to enjoy the books while I am reading them.

I've set my yearly target for 65 this year.
My main book resolutions are
1- to order less on line too get the full thrill of a hunt 8n a decent bookshop
2- To get stuck into authors I only started reading last year but loved , Brandon Sanderson, Mark Lawrence and John Scalzi.
3- Keep enjoyong what I'm reading. If it sucks leave it ☺

@Roger: Good luck with Mazalan! I'll start it one day... and I'm aiming to complete the challenge because so far I've managed to pick books to fit that I need to review, so hopefully I'll finally get some of those very overdue reviews done! ;)
@Paul: I like your goals, especially no. 2! Sometimes I wonder why I'm not reading the entire back catalogue of quite a few authors...
Oh, and I should probably add:
- try and be a more active mod for the group than the end of last year!

@Paul: It took me a long time to get to goal 3, I used to just plow through a book to finish it, but life is too short to read crappy books (Also great author choices, I have yet to read Mark Lawrence but his book is on my desk in front of me so will be read soon)
@Rinn: Are you planning on doing all the villains in the challenge too? because that goal of 52 won't get you there :) How long does it take you to review a book? I tried doing it but realized I'd rather spend time reading more than writing reviews about the books.

I do tend to try pick up an authors backlog of I really enjoy their book. I have complete shelves of most of my favourite authors. Its great going into a book with a higher confidence that you will enjoy it but in saying that I also enjoy taking a risk on new authors.
And Mark Lawrence is worth a look . The one I read last year was great so I now have two more on my shelf
@Roger: Yes, if I can, but 52 is just my general goal for the year - that's what I want to hit at the very least, and get enough for the DC vs Marvel Challenge if I can :)
As for reviews, I tend to have a notebook by me when reading books for review, so I can make points. It can be a bit distracting though - so sometimes I just read and read and write down after, although sometimes I just have to get my thoughts down. Actual writing of reviews depends on how strong my opinions of the book were. If they were strong, either positive or negative, it'll be easy to write. If I had no special opinion, it's a slow process!

2014 I challenged myself to read 20 books which I knew was low-balling it but I did it anyway. I ended up reading around 70 books. (Goodreads still counts the ones that I quit reading because they were so bad.)
This year I'm challenging myself to 50. Still kind of low-balling it but I have a lot of plans this summer that are going to cramp my reading style.
I've resolved to read every single one of my book club books and to read and discuss as many of the BoTM books with this group as well.

@Rinn: oh man, not requesting books from NetGalley is so difficult. I stay away from the site for a little while, but then I think, nah, it'll be fine if I just take a look, I won't request anything...you know what happens next hahaAlso, Harper kills me whenever they upload a whole bunch of ARCs on Edelweiss (self restraint, what self restraint?)
My only reading goals for the year are read and enjoy what I read! :)
I've set my GR target to 300, since I managed to achieve it in 2014!
Although one of my bookish goals should probably be "buy less books", let's be real, that's not going to happen, so I won't even attempt it lol
@Nara: EXACTLY! And then it's like a massive backlog of amazing stuff, and even if I restrict myself to the really great looking books rather than requesting ALL the things like I did when I first got NG, it's baaaad. Harper auto-approved me too, but actually as of yet I've not downloaded any of them - maybe if it was Voyager too, but I've just got the main Harper one.
This year is going to be a year of change for me. I am getting married and we plan to start a family this year as well. So my book goal is to convert as many of my physical books into ebooks (re reading as I go), to clear out the spare room. It may take a few years to do them all. :)
I have set a goal of 55 books this year. I'm not sure how doable this will be - baby due in May - I expect reading will not be my top priority. However maternity leave before hand - reading ahoy!
A few others:
- buy less books and work on reading the ones I've already got!
- Have a think about how I could resurrect my blog into something manageable that works for me
- Stop starting books whilst in the middle of reading something else
- be a more active Mod on this group
- read more sci-fi!

Congratulations!

Let's see...
read 100 books minimum (managed it every year since I started keeping track in 97 but one)
DC/Marvel Challenge
make some real progress on my various to read lists
and that's on the reading side. Writing is a whole other story.

Well I'm maintaining my challenge of 50 books as last year because I have managed to complete it, but as last year has been, this year is also going to be a year of big changes (job hunting and potentially moving etc. at some unspecified date), so I should be able to complete 50 and it is usually bulked out by graphic novels at the moment anyway!
Be a more active mod, Christmas has been a 2 week break from pretty much work and the internet so that's not been great but I've also been pretty slack here in general sure to deadlines etc. as Rinn and others have had too! I'll try and be a little more organised this year.
Try not to get backlogs of reviews! I am hideously behind with reviews from July 2014 still to write, so I'll try and catch up this month :)
I'm just going to do Kirsty's 2015 challenge this year as I was terrible at completing Mpauli's Avengers vs X-men one last year (it fell apart in the autumn with various changes), but I want to complete a challenge this year!
Finally I really need to stop buying books... I really have no more shelf space and no room currently for more shelves, they are stacked on the floor and I need to get through reading them first! :) (she says, buying a book yesterday)
Right. Now to see how well I can keep it! My only non-book one is to get outside for fresh air and walk more in 2015 :)

Hmmm.* Reread Mistborn and First Law so I can catch up on those series and work into the newer books by Sanderson and Ambercrombie.
* Reorganize my Goodreads book lists with more shelves.
* Complete my L5R and StarWars RPG collections.
* Get/Run/and recruit for Exalted. Finish my short stories for the setting and send them into the developers for consideration.
* Clear 50 books, graphic novels, and short stories this year and then go past that.
I never made any real reading resolution until June! I then decided I'd try and get through all of the Culture books in publication order my Ian M Banks before the end of the year after reading The Hydrogen Sonata late last year. I'm now waiting for the library to get Excession after I put it on order last week.

Mine are:
- Try not to feel guilty when reading for pleasure. (damn you, degree...)
- Try to complete the DC vs. Marvel Challenge.
- Stop requesting on Netgalley. For real this time. (so difficult!)
- Make a little more time for blogging and commenting.
- Set my yearly goal at 52 books, but don’t be disappointed if I don’t achieve it.
