I NEED HELP WITH INSTAGRAM

Instagram is one app I am NOT familiar with, but have been recommended to use for book promotion, etc.

I want to be able to post images, etc FROM my computer TO Instagram. I use an iMac with macOS High Sierra, Version 10.13.6

Can anyone give me pointers?
